One step closer to being a Namath clone. Seriously, thats good news. He'll have a good long time to recover, then not worry about rehab in TC onwards.
The only thing that annoys me about this is having less time with his receivers. There were reports of his plans of flying his guys out to practice- At least he'll be good to go though.
Very good that this is not a major issue. May and June to work with the receivers is better then nothing. He will be good to go by training camp. Good luck on the road to recovery Mark.
This could really hurt his progression. He needs all the work he can get and this could potentially set him back a couple steps. Hope he gets better asap and starts working with braylon and the rest of those guys to get this offense moving
No it won't. Lol, the guy has just played 2 more games than he should of already, so it wouldn't be too much of a reach to say that hes ahead of the curve already. Some good tape time for him will do him the world of good. maybe have a good long look at the Bills game , his worst?
This won't hurt anything. missing 8 weeks of OTAs won't kill a kid who prepares constantly. He'll ask his receivers to stay after practice and get on the same page that way. No one should worry about this too much. Would you rather have his knee get fucked up more and be injured for 4 weeks in November, or be out during the OTAs? Use your brain. Reminder: The first month of the offseason program is the OTAs. Not TC. OTAs don't mean shit. Everyone better not panic or I will e-kick you in the nuts.
Hey, at least he didn't go the Carlos Beltran route of elective surgery and consulted with team physicians. He will also will have the surgery done at the opportune time so he can maximize his time with once training camp rolls around. Guess he can hang around with big Kris Jenkins and Leon during the offseason as they all will be rehabbing injuries.
Wonder why they have to wait so much before doing the surgery but hey at the end of the day the important thing is that he'll have a more stable knee for the rest of his career
For a sophmore quarterback, OTA's are obviously more important than you think. Sanchez needs alot of work and by missing OTA's it will definantly hurt his progress. It is less time he has to work with his receivers before the season. How is this not something to worry about? Our franchise quarterback is having knee surgery and you want to just brush it off like he got a scrap on his knee. I just personally believe that this team needs a good leader on the field even during OTA's and I see this as a bit of a setback for are franchise
So you would rather he hobble around the rest of his career? Possibly get injured during the season? Now is the right time.
I understand that he has to get the surgery, and I am very happy he has decided to make the right choice and get it done now, but Im just stating that I believe this will affect his progress.
It might. There's also working with the receivers in the off season to think about. Good thing the team has Clemens! Heh.
You are Clemens! I knew it. Sanchez is a young guy, he'll be fine. Better to address it now and miss some OTAs than be hampered his whole career. He didn't even get drafted until the end of April and look how well he did as a rookie. With a whole off-season to absorb everything, study, look at film and draw from his experiences, etc, I think he'll be light-years ahead by this coming season.
Its not about shrugging the surgery off more than it is thinking that missing OTAs is going to push back his breakout season by a year or at least 8 weeks. That's foolish thinking.
He has an entire season on his belt as well as 3 playoff games, plus he'll be ready in time for Training Camp AND the Preseason. I think he'll be fine.
