Does Feely deserve more money if that's what he's asking? Yes. He washed away the bad memories of Brien & Nuge while being compared to John Hall, arguably the Jets best kicker ever.

Does he deserve Janikowski money? No. If that type of payout is what he wants then let him walk. But if he's pushing for like $4mil over 2 years then that's probably worth the extra $500k he would earn each year.

He was a consistent and good (not great) kicker. Thanks to ScotsJet for the details - I remember the Buffalo snap went bad cause of the hurry up and Feely was rushed so I don't count that. He doesn't control clock management and most kickers would have missed under those hurried conditions.

I say, pay the man and keep him.

So if the Jets sign Feely after March 5th it counts as a CBA signing then? That sucks!

Maybe people will see Folk play really well in the preseason or something and we can trade him for a 6th round draft pick

Yea but im still drunk this morning...... Its not that bad an idea though. Hes a backup plan if Feely doesnt work out staying as a Jet and if Feely does stay a Jet Folk is a proven talent in the past and if he proves himself maybe we could shop him.

The chances of a team actually trading for him based off preseason performances when he is signed to a one year deal are pretty low. Especially if we have another kicker on the roster that we intend on using. The leverage is all theirs. Either we would cut Folk to use that roster spot for something else, or look like idiots with two kickers on our roster.

I've never gotten attached to a kicker before but Feely is a guy that would upset me if he walked.

Unknown? The guy was a pro bowler 2 years ago. I don't care if who's kicking field goals, as long as they go in. Yes, I liked Feely. A lot actually for a kicker but what are you going to do? I would rather use the loss of Feely to gain someone more vital to this football team.

Four meaningless preseason games wouldn't remove a season's worth of doubt from Nick Folk.

Feely is the more reliable guy. Okay, he missed in the playoffs, but he's still a better cutch kicker despite those misses. We have to find a way to keep him for another season.

You know what Feely has that even some better kickers don't? Confidence. Probably his best characteristic, that's what I love about and him and that's why I want him back. Sorry, anyone who says a kicker is a kicker is just ignorant.

Nugent couldn't kick Feely in the balls if Jay were standing bowlegged and naked 2 feet away. On the other hand, Feely would punt Nooge's vagina across the room.

Folk only completed 18 of 28 last season and missed 8 of his final 11 attempts before being released! This must be some kind of joke. Why are we even entertaining this possibility?

I don't care if he's a fromer pro-bowler. He's obviously lost his confidence. This is NOT the guy I want to see a year from now when the AFC Championship is on the line and we're kicking a FG for a chance at the big one.

This has got to be some kind of bluster and bluff on the part of the Jets. Feely knows it, the fans know it and the Jets know it. Ridiculous.

    Haha...no hard feelings, man.

I may come off as a dick to a lot of people, but when it comes down to this game, I know what I'm talking about. I'm just passionate about this team and about this sport...more than almost anything else in the world. It allows me to take my mind off of stressful things.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that so many fans could get attached to a journeyman kicker.

It's already come into focus: what you're doing isn't funny.
