Until the Jets can beat New England in both games AND win the division for a couple years, it's still New England's division. Just calling it how it is.
People want to beat us because we never shut up yes. We have the most talented roster(on paper). Question is is REX going to bring it together this Fall//Winter
Why?? In the last two years the Dolphins have as many division titles as the Pats. Are the Dolphins the team to beat? The Jets have gone 2-2 against the the Pats in the last two years and have two more playoff victories. I just do not understand this blind Patriot following by JET fans. You aren't "calling it like it is", instead you are having more faith in the Patriots to have something up their sleeve for this season then faith in the Jets to do more with all the talent they brought in. The Patriots, and I can not say this clearly enough, have done NOTHING this off season. The Jets and even the Dolphins (Dansby, Marshall) have gotten better. What do the Patriots have?? I don't care if they have a million draft picks, very few rookies start and even fewer make a bona fide difference their first year. Please explain how the Patriots are any sort of "team to beat"? Welker is likely going to miss a good chunk of the season. Randy Moss developed a pair of alligator arms, and lack of effort in the second half of the season that will only get worse if the Patriots are not dominating. Look at Moss, he only plays great when everything around him is going great, and trust me everything will not be going great this season for the Pats. Even "Tom Terrific" has not consistently stepped up in the pocket since his injury. I would wager anyone that the Patriots will win nine games or fewer this season. Peel back the media kool-aid around their "dynasty" (which ended five years ago) and honestly tell me they are the team to beat. If you slapped the Bills logo on their talent do you think they would the division? Rex Ryan had it right, lets not "kiss Bill Belichick's rings".
the only team to go 6-0 against the division was the 18-1 patriots. We have the hardest division in the league. Expect 4-2 to be the norm or even 3-3 in some years. 5-1 would be beyond amazing.
LOL. While I'm still hesitant to call the Jets favorites this year in the AFCE, I gotta say I enjoyed this post. I'm so pumped for this season, but I'm just afraid to get my hopes up too much...
The Jets definitely have the highest ceiling in the division, but it's now the hardest division in the sport. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. A key thing to remember, and it goes for any team, divisional games are always swingy. AFCE games in 2010 are going to be something to watch.
My post wasn't praising the Patriots. My post was more about the Jets actually proving something. If the 2010 Jets can start like the 2009 Jets and not lose their level of play like they did in 2009, I'd say the Jets would be the team to beat. Also, I was actually going to add the Dolpins in the discussion as well but because the Jets gave those games away, I didn't include them. Just because the Dolphins had the Jets number last year didn't mean they were the better overall team, so I do not consider them the team to beat over New England. Plus New England hasn't done anything this offseason because they have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds...
What I find very interesting is the change that Jets fans are now dealing with. No more SOJs , thats history (thank fuck!), now it seems that despite all the great signings and hoopla from last season, the vast majority here are still grounded enough to accept that alot of the pieces of our 'jigsaw' have to fit, and will not be shouting from the roof tops..........yet. Love it.
