I'd be lying if I said this wasn't a concern. We are adding quite a bit of age and injury to our roster. Seems like the "all in" approach of Dan Snyder. I'm not thrilled about Hard Knocks either and am worried that a lot of this is an attempt to sell corporate PSL's. Our second year coach has some giant ego's to deal with and expectations of a SB or bust. Not to mention the highest expectaions of a second year QB. Our succes last year was rooted in being a TEAM, I wonder if we have lost some of that.
When we went out and paid big money for Faneca, Woody, and Pace it was more Skins like. Those were high risk which actually provided high reward, making them non-Skins like signings. Picking up a bunch of relatively inexpensive guys for little to no draft pick compensation is totally un-Skins like.
this. If we doled out a 100 million dollar contract with 40 million guaranteed for LT.....then I would append the word "skins" to the "Jets".
Most of the big names are under one year contracts. Snyder was a dumb s*** and gave those aging players LOADS of money with years attached. Also, all the guys we've picked up are logically fit for our style of play: AC (strong secondary, heavy blitzes), LT (#1 running game), Holmes (positional need), JT (in this defense, ~10 sacks). That's the difference.
So first we were becoming the Ravens, now we're becoming the Redskins...it's bullshit, we're the fucking Jets, and that's it.
just hope taylor doesnt do what he did in washington and leave every1 with a bitter taste in their mouths
+1 We are making smart moves. Nothing long term or very heavy investments of both pick or dollars. This team has added a ton of talent in the 4 offseasons that Tanny has been at the helm and I could not be happier.
Who are we over paying??? How is the TEAM concept lost? Cuz we let TJ go? It happens all the time man. Get over it. TJ was 32 years old. Watch him gain 400 yards next season behind that KC line and then you'll see if TJ made us or if we made TJ. PSLs are part of the business, but how is signing a 36 year old JT going to help? As for Rex, he is right. The goal is to win SB. You either achieve your goal, or you fail, simple.
Next year, we trade for Marshall, Ray Lewis, Ben, pickup Pac man and another convict and we will be the Bengals.
I'd be glad if JT got 10 sacks, but I think we have set much too higher expectations. For me, 6-8 sacks are fine for JT. Thats 6-8 more sacks than Gholston.
if you can't tell the difference between how the Jets are building the team and how the Redskins have overpaid for free agents, than the answer is yes, we are becoming the Jetskins. there really is nothing more to say about it.
Also, There is a base of good players who now have one year in Rex's system. So we are adding short term skill players to a strong team so if one or two does not work out no big deal. Washington does not have a base in place and locking in long term with players
speak for yourself. There was no taste in my mouth whatsoever when he came. Maybe yours. Jk don't take offense to that.
