You are the new GM for the new NFL expansion team and Roger Goodell says you can have your choice of 1 offensive and 1 defensive player to get your team started. Take age, position, work ethic, etc into account. Current players only no players in there prime ( example: Favre and Ray Lewis unless of course you'd like to choose them)

    My choices would be:

Offense: Aaron Rodgers, QB, He has proven that even with a shit Oline he can be an elite QB.

Defense: Darelle Revis, CB, A bit bias but he is a threat all over the field and disrupts every QB's game which is great in a pass happy league.

Honorary Mentions: Ryan Clady, LT, Broncos
    Jared Allen, DE, Vikings

Those were actually my two picks as well.

Honorary mention: Adrian Peterson, RB, Vikings & Patrick Willis, LB, 49ers

    Offense: Brees

Gotta get a proven franchise QB first and foremost. Brady is too jumpy and Manning is too old and pompous, though he's second choice. Brees does what Brady used to do: turn average guys into stars.

    Defense: DeMarcus Ware

The defensive corollary to the need for a franchise QB is the need for a top flight pass rusher. Ware is dominant, only 26, and still improving. Munny.

Honorable mention: Rex is the guy that can make any defense good, regardless of player.

Those would be my two exact choices.

CB may not be the most important position on defense but no other defensive player in the NFL is more elite at his position than Revis is right now (plus he is only 25). My honorable mention would be Patrick Willis.

This. A strong line is the cornerstone of a great team.
