i dunno why, maybe because jenkins got hurt or because mangini became a huge pussy but it didnt help when favre would throw all those picks and keep the defense on the field and give the other team good field position

This. DRob was a bust but he wasn't a Ghost bust.

Whatever happened to DRob post-Broncos anyway?

Mangini became a huge pussy GAME SET MATCH.

If Rex Ryan was here - Hurt Favre or not, we win a few of those games down the stretch and Rex never sits back and lets pussy QB's pick him apart....

That's why Mangini is gone and Rex is here....

He made the PB based on reputation. Favre had a really good 3-4 game stretch, most of the year he was average to bad.

We didn't have close to the exact same team in 2007. Our OL was one of the worst in the league, in '08 it was one of the best. That is a HUGE difference- we also didn't have keller, didn't have T-Rich, didn't have jenkins, Revis was a rookie, ...

His awful turnovers and inabiliyt to lead us to points killed us more than the D(who also deserves its share of the blame). if not for the D scoring a TD against Buf we go 0-5 instead of 1-4 to end the 2008 season.

No competition: Trading Two first round picks AND a fourth round pick to drafty DeWayne Robertson.

    What a piece of crap.

Robertson cost us two first round picks and a fourth rounder. WHat the Ghost cost us?

At the time, I seem to remember hearing about how Robertson was 2nd-Team All-SEC and thinking to myself we traded up this much for a guy who is not even the best at his position in the SEC (let alone the nation)?!?!?!

Am I remembering that wrong or was he really that lowly-regarded coming out of college?

    Just One 1st round pick....

PLUS.... Gholston was a consensus 1st round pick in October before the draft - In October before the draft of Drob's year people were looking at this guy as a steal in round 6.

Robertson cost us one 1st rd pick, we trdaed 2 and got one back and again at least he did something for us. Ghoslton has done abolsutely nothing so far.

You can't go by that, I dont think Troy Aikman was 1st team all Pac 10 i '88 and he was the first pick in the '89 draft.

No competition. Robertson WAY the bigger bust. Cost us much more than Ghost.

The bottom line is that we could have had one of two possibilities:

    1) TWO players selected in the first round and one in the 4th round (Don't dismiss this pick)

    2) DeWayne Rpbertson.

How can you not call this guy the biggest bust in NYJ history when you consider what he cost?

I'm surprised that a Pats fan makes this comment. Most Pats fans I have conversed with make it loudly clear that the Pats knew how good Brady was from the moment they drafted him in the 6th round. He would have had the job anyway. Right?

The begining of the year was expected - Favre barely practiced with the team but, as I remember the coaching fell prey to the media hounds screaming for Favre to throw more and IMO, Favre should have been used like he would have if Rex was here - Gradually getting more on his plate - Favre or not this team should have babied him at the start a little more...

The Oaklans Loss was killer - A team that we could run against all day and Favre is throwing the ball.

Then he peaked with wins over New England and Tennessee.... If he stays healthy and the team had some better defensive coaching and actually blitzed a few times (REX!!) this team contends.

Me and Mike Westoff had a BLAST that year!!!!

The move turned out to be a bust BUT we have no idea who we pick w/ those other picks? How do we know those guys don't turn out to be busts? We know Robertson gave us one very high level season and he started for us for 5 years. gholston has given us absoutely nothing in 2 years, not even as a situational pass rusher. the man hasn't even come close to a sack in 2 years- not even a cheap sack.

Gholston is a MUCH bigger bust than Robertson was.

We ran it 27 times w/ Jones and Leon so it's not like we didn't run it at all. Favre threw that killer INT at the oak GL in regulation and had multiple opps in OT to win the game and couldn't. he was outplayed by Jamarcus Russell that day.

he had a nice 3-4 game stretch(1st buf game through ten game) but that was it.

he was healthy enough to produce down the stretch. His arm wasn't the problem, it was his poor decision making.

if we had 2009 Brett Favre we could have won a SB but we didn't get that version.

Was it exciting? it was very exciting at times but I get more excitement from winning and although the '09 reg season wasn't as exctiing as '08 the end result was much more exciting. I had seen favre play live before so I didn't get the thrill from seeing him play live again. That season was a huge disappointment after the 8-3 start.

What does this have to do w/ this discussion? You think every player and coach loved Brett?

How can that be the worst move when they went to the AFCCG after holding camp there? yeah it might suck for you but not for the team.

I think in terms of for the fans participation I agree 100% but in terms of taking the players away from life's distractions during camp Cortlant may be a big upgrade for the team.
