Who cares, I'd rather have Brian Hartline than this slouch.

I know little of Hartline, but I will say that I don't particularly care for Edwards as a player. I've been watching last season's games the past few days, and Edwards was directly responsible for about 2-3 of Mark's INTs (that I caught). He has four terrible habits that drive me insane:

    1. Carries the football like a loaf of bread far too often.
    2. Jumps nearly EVERY TIME he goes to catch a ball, whether it's necessary or not.
    3. Slows down on his routes randomly, mostly on posts.
    4. And, of course, drops balls for now reason whatsoever.

The 3rd one is where he's screwed Mark over a few times, slowing up on posts, and allowing the DB to sit there and get an easy INT.

BUT... he still does do some things well, like run blocking, and making some ridiculous catches/plays when you least expect it. I've said it before... if we only keep one WR in 2011, I expect and HOPE it's Holmes.

Did you see how he spread out the defense to open up running lanes for the #1 ranked offense? Or did you miss that part?

Go back and watch the games. He didn't spread defenses out as often as you think.

I know that was the theory behind the trade, and it worked to a degree, but it didn't change the fact that we had a rookie QB. By mid-season, defenses were becoming content on playing the run and forcing Mark to beat them in the passing game. That's why it was so impressive our running game was as successful as it was - we were running on teams who were all-in to stop the run.

I agree partially, the respected the run a lot more but still the defenses had to not forget about Edwards. Did you notice a lot more later in the season the play-action bombs that Edwards was getting? Even the one score against Indy in the AFCCG.

Very good... Ravens have a stout DL but their CB kind of suck... nice to know we can coun't on Cotchery + Edwards (in that order) against them!

So who were the idiots that actually believed he'd get a suspension?

Would not have been good to have Edwards and Holmes out vs. Bal.

That spinning catch in his first game vs. Miami was a thing of beauty.

No big surprise. Knew for a while now he would get nothing. He would've gotten something in 2009 if he was going to get someting.

This is great news, this means Smith can own Edwards just like he did last year.

fuckin people bitch endlessly about Edwards ooh i watched this I watched that. blaming Edwards like Sanchez didnt play like a jackass at times.

first off, it was 8 in the box all day until Edwards got here.

secondly, Edwards blocks his ass off when we run.

third, he dropped 4 passes last year, count em. four.

fourth, the guy spent his whole career thusfar in fucking Cleveland. lets see him with an offseason with Sanchez under his belt.

yeah its great to have Santonio Holmes but the guy is another piss test away from 1 year out of the NFL. so before people go pounding their chest about a dillusional insurance policy we have they need to look at things realistically.
