Bayless is quite annoying. He just tries to make statements that get a rise out of people. Just like a stopped clock, once in a while he's correct out of sheer luck.
skip bayless hates every new york team. he hated on them all last season. every time they talk jets he repeats himself. they lost thomas jones and alan faneca! they lost those 2 because they choose to lose them 2, not because they couldn't have them back.
skip said calvin pace isn't good enough. he says 'he's no shaun phillips" in the last 2 years pace has 15 sacks compared to phillips 14.5. pace played 4 less games. take that Skip! he was then going on about how you can't blitz your DB's like they do and win. someone brought up baltimore from 2000.
truth be told if Phillips wasnt there, I doubt skip would have said he's no shaun phillips. He probably would have said Demarcus Ware. Which of course calvin is not. But he is a very good #2 pass rushing option for any team, and in time, say next offseason, we will bring in a top pass rusher i have no doubt.
if you guys were looking to sign a 3rd RB, Rex would be smart (in my opnion) to look at Brian Westbrook. That guy scares me more than LT.
Brian Westbrook is one of my favorite players but he's always hurt and doesn't really give us anything we don't already have. I know, I had him on my fantasy team three years straight. LenDale White on a one-year deal would be a better pickup, in my opinion.
yea thats true. BW and LT are like players. both are good receivers out of the backfield, and both are good runners between the tackles. good point.
Last year we had a one-cut and go runner in Jones, a speed back in Leon, and a power back in Jones. LT used to be a speed back with size but these days he's more of a slasher that has to out-maneuver people to gain yards. McKnight is obviously here to be the new speed back and Greene is the power back. LenDale White is strictly a power back with hardly any speed and is at his best at the goal-line. LaDainian Tomlinson is known as a great goal-line back and Shonn Greene obviously has the power to be successful at the goal-line but also had questionable hands as a rookie. Brian Westbrook is the opposite. He's a slasher with good speed who excels coming out of the backfield as a receiver. To me, we already got this when we picked up LT and drafted Joe McKnight. If I had to decide which one to pick up, I'd go with White. We have two guys who can catch the ball out of the backfield but the only guy that can really pound the rock is Greene. Other backups are Chauncey Washington and Danny Woodhead who are both more flash than smash.
We have 5 backs already this year and i don;t see us adding any more. Green is our starter, LT will play a big role, McKnight may get some return duty and a few downs. Richardson will start at FB and Conner will Play on ST's a perhaps get some game experince, espaically late if we are up big and pounding out a win. Its already a very crowded backfeild that needs no aditions. At least not pre training camp.
If our offensive line is as good as we think it is, we should be able to plus most runningbacks back there, and get at least decent production. Especially now that hopefully teams can't just stack the box and have us run Jones into a wall of people. Our line can make holes. Whether it's Greene, LT, McKnight, or even Chauncey Washington, I think we could run the ball okay as long as our line stays healthy. Would it remain at the same level? No. But with our defense and our weapons outside, hopefully we can handle a dip in production from the running game if Greene goes down.
Yeah, I was really just trying to add to the conversation. I say let sleeping dogs lie and wait for something to happen before adding somebody else to the backfield.
The latest is based on the last SNY interview he needs to grow a pair and add 10lb of muscle to said pair... which means he won't contribute much this year imo.
Hopefully he's still in the running to return some kicks. I know Brad Smith had that one score last year but he's not scaring anyone.
