I don't put much stock in this kind of thing, but it's pretty cool to see them on top for once.

Definitely agree. Don't think I've ever seen Jets #1 on there, so it's cool to see, even if power rankings mean nothing.

Obviously we all know that we aren't #1 right now. Do we have the potential to be? Yeah but we have to prove it so as nice it is to see it's just not the time.

Gonna love to see the Phin fans rip these PR's apart.

I know a lot of people are anti-rankings, but I personally like them. I don't ever remember seeing the Jets at the top of anyone's rankings. It's kind of nice.

For the most part I'm anti-rankings but this one will be fun.

Fish at 17th. You know they'll come out of the woodworks for this one...

I don't see how you could objectively look at this team and NOT put them near the top of the league. The Jets are a damn good team on paper. Honestly I think they only thing that would hold them back is injuries. Injuries will happen this year, hopefully they won't be deal breakers.

^ Yes, a lot of people have them ranked 4 so this isn't too far over the top.

I remember seeing the Jets at #1 after we blew out the Titans to go 8-3.

We should be up there but until we can beat Peyton Manning, Indy is better.

We did, we were beating them so bad they had to put Painter in.

Proves again how useless SI is. Preseason rankings are idiotic and basically useless. That said, even if you like to pretend that preseason rankings mean anything, its obvious that the Jets don't deserve to be No.1. 6-7 mos ago they barely made the playoffs and were ultimately crushed by the Colts. Jets should be considered a likely playoff team, but projecting them as No. 1 is all hope and/or hype. I think they are overrated as a No.1.

Rankings or not, as a fan that's gotta feel good seeing your team #1..

Lot of expectation's for a young QB..not sure I agree with how your team is being built, but we'll see.

I don't think sports illustrated #1 team matches up very well with their #17 team.

I guess they are with Cromartie and Wilson but I didn't hear they traded him, cut him or that he was injured.
