#20 #38 Eric Smith #62 rookie CB Who? We kicked their ass no doubt. #60 go 2 go Thanks Lowery you were right at being a nickle only, class act U R #20 is better as a rookie than Revis and thats scary, Wilson is the Real Deal and the shessnit! Beware! Edwards is on a seroius mission. Oh my goodness #10 can not be stopped. Sanchez please use your weapons wisely
Is anyone else scared by Nick Folk???? All I hear about this guy is that he cannot kick FG's over 40yds, and last night proved it. I think this will come to bite us in the ass if he doesn't improve. Ihedigbo stood out to me on the second team, I like his hustle.
I can't find footage of the missed 46-yarder. What happened? Missed left, missed right or pussy kick?
My main thought after the game last night....After Cro and Wilson...we are FUCKED at CB. Lowery was urinated on multiple times and Drew Coleman proved to be the shit stain we all knew he was after last season.
I agree with all you said TBJ. Our first team absolutely kicked the shit out of theirs. Jacobs can talk all the shit he wants considering he did nothing. All it means is their B and C teams beat ours. BFD, nobody cares about the score but look at how you played. If he really thinks his team won that game let him think that. Sanchez looked very good even after the INT. His throws were crisp and accurate. He was well protected as well and had time to make good decisions. I was impressed with Cro and Wilson, the two of them looked like an NFL secondary. Eric Smith had a great game as well. I was also impressed with the CFL kid on KR's and punts. He looks like he could have some big returns in his legs. LT looked fantastic on that TD run and on that one pass play. The Bradshaw play was a joke because Ellis was clearly held, I don't understand how you have two assholes back there and they both miss one of the biggest guys on the field having his jersey pulled two feet from the QB. You'd have to think that Mangold would not have been called for the hold that LT scored his TD on and obviously he would have been in there had it counted. As far as the TD Lowery got beat on, another questionable call but still a great play by Cruz. We all knew Drew Coleman sucked and last night just affirmed that. I think the other call by the zebras that hurt us was calling Edwards for going out and coming back in. On the one replay they showed it didn't look like he stepped out but oh well. That was a big play negated. My concerns are Folk, I knew at some point he would miss a FG that he should have drilled and it only took 3 kicks to do so. The guy is garbage and I hope the Jets are already looking for somebody else who can kick. Our dime CB, I think Lowery would be fine but it's clear that Coleman is not an NFL CB. He didn't just get beat on that play, he got absolutely toasted. Backup QB, even though he only played one series Brunell looked like an old man, yes KC played very well and looked like he has matured but we need him to be consistent and the next two weeks will tell a lot. He looked poised, and made some very nice throws. He hasn't looked that sharp since the 4th quarter of the Ravens game a few years ago.
That was just crazy. Lowery was mugged. He was face guarded. A little bit harder and it could have been called a blow to the head. Just amazing.
I'm still trying to figure out when holding the CB in a headlock while making a play on a ball became legal?
All great points...couldn't agree more. Lowery looked like he should be working for the MTA. Not sure if last night's performance gives the Jets that much more incentive to sign #24??? Cromartie is going to be an absolute stud for us. And Gholston continues to hide on the field. I wouldn't mind seeing Folk getting cut. There was ZERO pressure last night, and he cannot hit a 40 yarder with no elements, on turf? That's unacceptable to me.
on that 50yd gaint shuttle pass, pool was on the ground behind the line of scrimage but made TD saving tackle 50 yds down field. that's huge hussle.
not to mention Devito attempting to do the same. These dudes hustled their asses off. Great coaching.
Im not that excited about last night...heres why. Negatives 1. Not having Revis is going to hurt...big time. Sure Cro and Wilson did fine but the Giants #1 WR wasnt even there. When we play against elite QBs...Brady, Bert...its going to be an issue. If we lose Cro or Wilson for any period of time were fucked. 2. We played our starters...all of whom were healthy the entire first half. The Giants were missing multiple starters on both sides of the ball and we still only eeked out a 3 pt. half time lead. 3. We still need to find a way to get pressure without sending 8 guys. The zero blitz's work well when they get through but good QBs will find WRs. 4. Folk - no confidence Positives 1. LT has got something left in the tank. ANd Greene is a fucking wrecking ball. 2. When Holmes comes back Week 5 our WR corp will be one of the best in the league. 3. Our line looked great without Mangold...so with him we'll be great. 4. Sanchez was sharp after forcing that one to LT 5. We made Eli bleed
I was very happy w/ the first half performance but very disappointed w/ the backups in the 2nd half. Most importantly we didn't have any injuries.
On the negatives: #1: I'm not worried yet, Cromartie and Wilson were fine. Obviously we'll need Revis b/c that will push Wilson down and guys like Coleman and Lowery will lose PT but we are fine for now. #2:The Giants played their starters well into the 2nd qtr as well and the score was irrelevant, we dominated play on both sides of the ball. #3: I wouldn't read too much into that as we weren't gameplanning. #4: I agree.
I agree that Cro and Wilson are going to be studs for us in coverage. But Cro is clearly every bit of the puss he was advertised to be. Two Sherry Rhodes takles in one half. Rex needs to light some sort of a fire under his ass.
Lighten up. 3/4 FG's first time in stadium is hardly grounds for no confidence. His kick offs were strong. He'll be fine. What's the purpose for pre-season if you can't get the kinks out. You of such little faith....relax. There was strong points for many players....and weak points. Give the guy a chance.
I thought I was the only one who saw that, that is hustle, and very impressive. For a safety, on the ground, with the running going down the field, to get up, and run Bradshaw down? I said to myself...wow, 22 hustled on that play. Overall, I think both teams left alot to be desired. It seemed the Jets dialed up a few trick blitzes, but not too much after the first qtr. Gholston had a nice pressure, but couldn't swivel to turn and get the QB. Eric Smith was awesome on ST, overall ST were good, except for the missed FG. Not worried about the loss of Wright now, with Smith and Laury making some tackles. Taylor showed a few moves on kick returns. Not sure if he makes the team though. Greene was awesome, just seeing him redirect at the line and find the hole, pads down, pressing forward, he seems to have great vision, better than last year. He looks ready. Tomlinson was exactly what they wanted, relief for Greene, and showed a few moves and a little speed. Cotchery, awesome as always. Edwards looks better than last year already, he is ready to play. Not sure why Holmes played with the two's other than he is a bit behind in the playbook after missing some time perhaps with his son's issue? It was actually good for Turner to get some work at center, the line seemed good at times, not so hot on run blocking on others, and that was running to the right, not at Slauson even.
Oh yeah, and Cromartie is going to make some QBs pay this year. He could have had two picks last night.
He had two balls that could have been picked, I think his timing was off but my guess he'll be fine. I can forgive the Sherry tacking if he's making plays to break up passes and picking off the ball.
