And why on earth are we keeping Brunell over Clemens? That from somebody who could never stand Clemens. I don't really care about mentoring shit..he can't play and I doubt Sanchez will last all year.
I think I liked it better before NFL network, the intenet and streaming games etc. when you were lucky to see one preseason game on TV. At least than people didn't get all hyped up about meaningless shit. It is PRESEASON and means frickin absolutely nothing.
um..preseason games are on broadcast tv where they have been for the last 50 years. Sometimes on delay but always on.
No not yet. One would certainly hope that the last two weeks were a bigger indication of preseason, than anything else.
I think it's quite simple... if Schotty shits the bed he will be fired. Sanchez needs to make better decisions but ultimately it's on Schotty to get it through to Sanchez that you can't force the ball into double coverage regardless of how much he thinks he can make the throw.
No they weren't - Most years 1 preseason game would be on channel 11 or 9 that's it and the networks wouldn't touch preseason football until the late 80's or early 90's.
It's Preseason!! Don't sweat it. It's Preseason. The Jets have gone 4-0 in the preseason a bunch of times and SUCKED. I'm not worried.
don i think he may be referring to the games that used to be played saturday night and not shown until 10am sunday morning. his point is that when there were less internet jets stalkers there was far less overreaction to every little thing. this is a new day, people feel invested in the team and want to live vicariously through them. football is not just a sunday thing for many fans these days its a 365 day a year thing. but to the topic, everyone lets please remember this was a 9-7 team last year. they are not the greatest team on the face of the earth, no matter how much everyone wants sanchez to be drew brees he is still a guy who threw 20 something interceptions last year. with that said its preseason, although i sure am glad i didnt pay $750 for a seat to watch last nights game.
I agree with that. You never felt as vested because there was never soooo much information available as there is now.
I think it was Papa Shotenhymer that said: Improvement for a second year QB is measured by how much he doesn't regress... I think we'll be fine. The defense is amazing and hopefully Revis and the Jets will come to their senses... I agree about the game planning too. The one interception was horrible with him trying to force the ball into Keller and it didn't seem like he tried to look the defenders off. He was locked in on Keller.
It means nothing. Hmm...lets think about that statement. While i believe we will still be very competeitve this year, week 3 of the preseason is when the starters are supposed to get the reps to show they have this thing down. Our offense doesn't look that way. We have to find the endzone. Relying on the D to win everygame is insane. The offense has to show they can carry this team when needed. Sanchez doesn't look like he could pass the potatoes at the dinner table without a DB locking in for the INT, right now. He needs to improve his read timing and learn to look off he defenders. I know we will improve across the board, but to say this means nothing? I disagree. It shows us our areas to improve on, and in turn shows other teams our weaknesses.
I don't think in the history of the world a piece of catshit ever looked over at a piece of dogshit and said." well thank god for that, at least I smell better."
We did see some improvement from the offensive line this week. Our RBs averaged more than 5 yards per carry this week. Against Carolina the average was about half of that. Also, all of our RBs did pretty good this week, not just LT. The pass blocking is still unacceptable but should be the focus this week.
IT'S PRE-SEASON.....NOTHING CAN BE TAKEN FROM THESE GAMES.....play calling is vanilla, evaluation of different players at different positions, more substitutions than usual, and the same with opposing teams....this is nothing close as to what the real season looks like..........
I see your point. The most likely reason for that with most teams, is because you suck. Your starters need more time to prepare, which means more time against backups, which should translate to more victories in the preseason. It works pretty much the same way in baseball. The more set your regular season roster, the more you can evaluate the younger talent. That usually results in more losses.
As bad as our O has been if you prorate their scoring through a full game we ould be averaging 21 PPG, if we average 21 PPG we are going to win alot of games. The O did move the ball but we shot ourselves in the foot a few times. I'm slighlty concerned but I'm not worried. Obviously the ground game looked good, it doesn't look like our OL is doing a good job in pass protection though. Defensively we looked bad last night and still held Was to 3 FGs. I'll take it. Folk cannot miss PATs, we can't have kicker's missing PATs. For all the good he has done this preseason that almost flushes it all down the toilet. Hopefully Pace will be back w/in a couple of weeks but judging by the tone it sounds like it could be longer which sucks but we went 4 games w/o him last year and probably played our best D of 2009 during that stretch so we can win w/o him(assuming of course #24 is back). It's still preseason, no reson to jump off a bridge. We'll be fine as long as we stay healthy.
