There is reason for concern, but not panic.

We play you guys on halloween this year. That should be a good game. Best of luck to the jets this season.

I don't think many long time Jet fans have the SOJ mentality, at least I don't, this team has had a good run in the past decade and they seem poised to keep it up for some time.

As Abyzmul and others pointed out we know this is a ground and pound team, and so far this preseason 2 out of three seem to be fine, I know the defense and the running game will do fine, however our QB is an issue, he looks like he is still making the same mistakes as last year.

Our expressions of concern are not SOJ mentality, it's more like we don't care how much RR talks, all we want to see is progress from our QB so he can take us to the next level.

    67%

That's Sanchez completion rate this year.

    Tomlinson catches 60 balls.

    Shonn another 20...

    Both average over 6 YPC.

Expect Sanchez to put it up around 500 times this year.

last year we ran 1,030 plays (10th in the NFL).

We were around 20 in YPP, and YPG, and 17th in scoring.

We ran 1030 plays for an average of 64 plays a game.

I expect us to get 4 plays better, roughly.

    600 runs, 500 passes is 1100 plays at a 54% R/P ratio.

The 67% completion rate is a little high. Its pretty unheard of to go from 53-67 in one year.

In the preseason he's at 64.5

I think he stays there, maybe he's in the 59.8-62.5 range for the year.

With a much higher percentage of down the field throws.

I went back and watched the Wash game, and they left obvious completions on the field.

Lots of short passing plays this year.

    ...just not 500 of them.

I HIGHLY doubt Mark Sanchez throws the ball more than 450 times.

That was impressive, and made me think that maybe this guy was for real. Overall, after 41 years, it was like a crust of bread to a starving man - good at the time, but not as satisfying as a full meal. I hope Rex and Sanchez can provide it.

More accurately, it was like not enough milk for a whiny, complaining infant.

On that interception he def. had an underneath option wide open. WIDE open.

When I saw the replay I couldn't believe he had a possible TD underneath.

but the good news is that he bounced back and went 8/10 after it and had a TD. He responded well.

    Crust of bread?

How about the Jets being pretty relevant in the NFL since Woody took over?

    Is that a chicken leg?

I had actually typed 450 the first time around.

I just think we may wind up with too many offensive plays if we hit 1100
snaps, that equates to a 60/40 run pass split.

He actually had two guys wide open.

Earlier in the game (I posted this somewhere else)

He hit Cotchery (double covered)for a first down, but had Wayne Hunter wide open a yard from the sticks..

    That's depressing.

You want the game to be slow enough for him that he's able to think...

"F*** I've got to see Wayne Hunter with the ball when we watch the game film..."

Yea, maybe. But after 40+ years of utter frustration, I've earned the right to whine and complain, at least a little.

Well the Boys are being talked up to play in this seasons SB. Naturally you have last years champs the NOS. If you have faith in Peter King then you are on the pack & Steelers b/wagons

You made it sound that something other the winning the SB would define a successful season which is the reason I reposted what you posted. If you saying that all teams have question marks well that is the case every season just not this season. But in the ultimate end if we do not win the SB then we had a unsuccessful season no matter how many regular season games we win or how deep we go in the POs.

I say it again anything less then winning the VLT is a unsuccessful season. Even RR confirms that. Are you saying that something less then winning the SB would satisfy you?
