Before I derail further...... Great article. You can tell during preseason LT had "it".

Yahoo thinks he's Leon Washington. I wonder if Charity knows that she's been fucking the wrong Leon.

No reason to bash Jones while appreciating a fututre HoF'er. Jones was what he was... a good all purpose RB that did everything well, and nothing great. Dude gave it up for this team. Took a hell of a beating, and was the leader on offense. I respect and appreciate what TJ did here.

Tomlinson has been seriously better than even optomistic Jets fans could have hoped for. My biggest concern is over use. Greene needs to get twice the carries, or Tomlinson, like Jones, will wear down. Wrong side of thirty.

I have no problem with getting Tomlinson 20 or more touches this week, but after that, as long as we can pull out a W, he will need to be conserved somewhat. He needs to be fresh when the playoffs come, if they come.

When he broke Ty Law's ankles at the 10 yard line going in for the TD. I remember.....

Yeah bashing Jones is waay out of line. What he did for us last season was outstanding.

Rex's presser yesterday, we was saying that LT has exceeded all his expectations. Us as well I think.

Until Greene steps up his game, I have no problems with LT taking the lions share of the ball, man is on a mission.

I don't recall seeing LT play with this much passion in years, if ever. Have to admit it was a great pick up and I knew he still had something left, but not this much.

I'm all for the 'screw all those that said LT would be a downgrade from TJ' discussions but c'mon dude. Thomas Jones was one hell of a player for us. Sure, he was no Walter Payton behind this line but he did all of the things he was supposed to do without any of the mistakes. Lets give the guy some credit.

Now I know how NE felt after they signed another washed up Charger. I had my doubts in the beginning right after they signed him, and I am pleased to say that those doubts were totally and completely unfounded. I love that he spoke to the team like that. My favorite part of the speech:

    Keep it up, LT.

I agree, but having said that, LT has been the unexpected but most pleasant surprise of the season, so far. I really hope he keeps it up.

Totally agree. I always liked they guy. He played well for the 3 years he was here. I think he gained 1197yards through our swiss cheese oline in 07 as well. TJ was a good RB and when a stand up, normally quiet, player like Martin approved of a pickup, you have to respect the man that came in.

That said - LT was a great pick up. I also believed he would be much better behind our oline. I did NOT believe he would be this good. Please keep him fresh.

The article was good until this point:

"This is a troubled team, tainted by off-the-field issues, that can learn from Tomlinson's example, on and off the field."

Seriously, what issues a dui? Tone it down drama boy.

This guy has been incredible for us both on and off the field.
We need someone to take leadership off this team and lead it out of the darkness and into the light. LT seems to be taking the torch and leading the way.

To quote you: "seriously"? Every week there seems to be another off-the-feld incident with this team, as well as a clear lack of discipline on the field at critical moments. Braylon's antics during the game, and his subsequent DWI. Inez Sainz. The Revis holdout. Rex and Shotty shoving each other around after the Ravens game. The stupid penalties on 3rd and long situations in the Ravens game. The lack of discipline is apparent everywhere, and I am not the only one who has seen it. All week long I've listened to analyst after analyst say the same thing. If you want to be an aggressive football team, you must have discipline or it just won't work. That's why what LT did is so important. He can help keep this team focused.

Braylon's 'antics' pale in comparison to the same things those analysts love to see out of Ochocinco. They're only suddenly terrible just because he's a Jet. The penalties were absurd, but I'm not sure how you can say that on-field discipline was a serious problem against the Patriots. As far as off-field discipline, there have been two embarrassing incidents, both of which have been blown out of proportion as far as their reflection on the team.
