I still believe b. The next time Schotty puts his head up his ass and the Jets lose a game they should have won due to ill-timed and out of context play calls 80% of the board will also. When a QB faces a lot of pressure and doesn't perform well enough to win the game or when the offensive line gets totally overmatched by an aggressive front 8 or when a runningback inexplicably puts the ball on the ground when you can't afford it, those are all reasons that you lose games you shouldn't. When the offensvie coordinator calls 5 passes that are picked off in a game where you are running for 300+ yards and you lose to a last place team as a result? That's just absolute evidence that the guy doesn't have the consistency needed to be an offensive coordinator at the NFL level. I've seen no evidence that Schotty adds anything to the Jets chances to win the game and more than a bit of evidence that he detracts from their chances. For people pointing to 2006, well that was Chad's worst even year ever, he's normally lights out in even years, and the Jet's offense really wasn't that good that year - it just looked good compared to the total stench from 2005 and 2007.
There were actually an even amount of running and passing plays, as i recall. Your post is a sort of urban legend.
I don't recall you ever saying who should instead be the Jet OC. Or why you are not down on Ryan for bringing back BS. And no I am not holding my breath waiting for answers.
Neither of those things has anything to do with whether or not Schotty is consistent enough to be calling plays for an NFL offense.
My feelings for the most part, but I didn't want to fire Schotty. We didn't see all the presnap nonsense the next 2 weeks, so somehow he got his head out of his ass.
my whole internet persona is an urban legend. I don't consider "checking down" on every pass play....an even distribution.
I will agree with you on your points .... Take away the roughing the kicker penalty and we win that game, 1 single ticky-tacky penaly .... PERIOD, as bad as we played, we would have shut up the over-rated Ravens and been 3-0 right now ....
I never doubted Sanchez but have always thought Schotty was over rated. Especially as he keeps getting linked with HC jobs.
I just chalked it up to a great defense in Baltimore and Schotty never got us into a rhythm so we couldn't just turn it on when we needed too. I have thought from day one that Mark is going to be a top 10 QB in this league, probably never an elite, but a very good QB that could get us to where we needed to go.
My brother is a darksider Jet fan, they are toxic to be around during games and really take away from enjoying the game. He was ready to throw himself into turnpike traffic after the Raven game.
Pissed at the playcalling and feared Schotty, not Sanchez, regressed. Scenario A is fucking laughable. You can't find someone who believes in Sanchez more than I do.
I am a supporter of B from the day he was hired. MS has proved already he can be his own OC so why do even need Shotty?
I'm holding back this theory until Mark's 4th year, but if he progresses the way I know he should, the OC might become irrelevant the same way Tom Brady and Peyton Manning don't need an OC. The kid is that good. I'm not saying he'll put up their numbers, or call his own plays without the help of schotty, but he can run any play or check off from oddities and keep a drive going. He may one day be able to protect himself from Schotty's need to be cute.
But you support Schotty. I went from being on the fence to disliking him. If the Jets had an OC who never ran trickery bullshit and just lined up and played tough football I have a feeling the offense would be high flying and unstoppable.
Better get off the weed or coke since I NEVER supported Shotty just like I was against Herm from the second he was hired
i never really came close to A (sorry, the second year of a quarterback's NFL career is simply too early for this) or B (I've always thought Schotty gets far too much shit from Jet fans) but I definitely was starting to agree with C
post 33 says you were a supporter of "B" who the fuck is B? Brian? Stop typing like a 12 year old girl.
I was on the fence between A and B. I thought both Sanchez and Schotty had some culpability for the Ravens' loss. I wasn't quite ready to go there as far as saying "wasted draft pick" though. C did sum up how I felt about the Jets at that point. I still do feel that they have a little too much swagger for a team that didn't even win their division last year. The upside of the Baltimore loss is that it seems to have humbled them and got them refocused.
