If I'm Tanny I definitely at least call his agent. I don't think they would sign him even if they had a work out with him but if I'm wrong it means someone thinks he is gonna help the team. Definitely no harm in taking a look.

if he's coming on the cheap, it would be dumb not to kick the tires. If he's got any of that ability still in him, I can't think of a better coach to get it out of him than Rex

I say give him a look if and only if he's willing to sign for the minimum. He'd come in motivated and Rex has been known to bring out the best in guys abilities.

Like Tannenbaum says, no stone unturned. At least evaluate him and if we get him on the cheap, with the help he'd have around him on this team, he should at least be able to play decently.

With his name and the success hes had in the past, a false showing of skill may raise his value and he could be a bargaining chip for someone stupid enough to take the bait.

Or the lesser possibility is that he plays great and we end up retaining him, either way good buisness would be to at least check him out. Either way dont aggressively pursue him.

I agree, what could it hurt to at least get him in the facility and work him out to see what is what?

Vet minimum, another one year tryout, adds LB depth.

Not sure of his level of involvement, but a good point on your part.

Merriman looked like one of the best players in the league in his first 3 seasons. And then what happens? He's got nothing. I want to know if it was just steroids or just a lot of injuries (like LT).

Guess I was wrong. We don't catch much of the Chargers on the east coast and I didn't recall 07 being a good year for him. I guess I should have checked the stats. Was the 08 injury the one where he tried to play with his knee barely being held together?

Woody Johnson hates Tila Tequila. Casey and Tila's "engagement" was just for publicity. Merriman also hates Tila Tequila and has sued her for false allegations and copyright infringement. Shouldn't be a problem I don't think.

I think we are getting enough pressure, its our secondary that is having problems.

he's young and might be bale to help provide more pressure on the QB. i wouldn't be against bringing him in.

Can never get enough pressure on the qb. I doubt he ends up here, but there's no harm in making the call
