Yea I read that but rehabbing isn't the same as playing and practicing. I'm just a little concerned.

So it's pretty much unanimous that the players deserve a rest, but is six days excessive?

They are 5-1, I think they deserve time off for that. You have to reward your players for their successes.

As far as I know Rex said the players are to be back Sunday/Sunday night, and reporting Monday morning.

I told Rex not to do it but the fucker wouldn't listen to me. He did consult me on the Braylon Edwards thing and he agreed a quarter was sufficient.

Anyway it is a long season and these players are beat up. They just had a game on a short week. They are 5-1 and played the toughest part of their schedule. Why not let them have a little time off as a reward?

I think this is great for the team. Rex is a man of his word and the players are into it.

I think it really shows his appreciation for the way they're playing.

It was reported in the Star-Ledger this morning that Revis had said he was staying around to rehab.

I think Rex is doing the right thing by giving the players the option. Not everyone is the same. Some will hang around and do light workouts, while for others, getting completely away for 4-5 days is the complete break they need to really feel better mentally and physically.

I'm not worried about the Bye causing us to lose any games. I don't see any correlation.

With ten more weeks left in the season and God willing, some post-season action, its a good time to get them recharged. Gonna be a long slug fest to end of the season. Good plan. So long as guys are responsible and don't get in trouble and stay in shape.

He takes a vacation, which disrupts his ability to get his football legs under him.

EDIT: nevermind, I forgot he's staying to rehab. He'll be fine come the packers game.

It could set him back a half week. I'm going to say it won't because Revis is that good, and hopefully this allows the swelling to go away completely.

Most teams actually keep the players around for the bye week and work on the glaring problems in their game.

I know the Jets are 5-1, but there are glaring problems in the secondary in terms of communication and the red zone scoring needs to be improved.

They better be ready to go to work come monday.
