It will be another one of those, if Miami wins, it's not devastating, kind of like the Pats beating the Ravens last week, but no I'm not rooting for the Dolphins because, well... fuck the gay sharks and it will be hilarious if they are 0-3 at home

Plus we get to play the Steelers so if we keep playing at this high level, that will give us a chance to pass them (makes it different from Pats-Ravens last week), and if we slip at all from this high level even for a week or two, we want to have separation in the division. Division is always the most important thing.

This is a good point, we still get to play the :steelers:. The problem with that is that that game is on the road. :drunk:

If the Fins win, all it takes is one loss and we're right back in a tie with them. Not to mention the confidence it will give them knowing they knocked off a contender.

If the Steelers and Jets are really #1 seed contenders, the game between the two will likely decide who takes it because neither will lose many games.

I want the Dolphins to lose, period.

Just say the Phins do win, all their trolls will return gloating about beating what many say is the best team.

I never root for an AFC east team to win unless it's like a scenario mentioned earlier. Something like if the Phins beat the Pats we win the division, or if the Phins beat the Ravens we get home-field throughout.

How about we look on the bright side, one of them is going to lose. That will help us either way.

Exactly. We don't want Miami to be 4-2 coming off of wins in Lambeau and at home against the annointed best team in the league. Let them fade away, and then when the time comes for the game against Pittsburgh, if we are in contention for the #1 seed with them, we will beat the Steelers. It's going to be hard to be the 1 seed either way without winning in Pittsburgh, but the last thing we want is to have the Pats and/or Dolphags on our ass the whole season. Let them fade away now and then we can spend the last few weeks worrying about bye/top seed

All those who think the Steelers are the best team were obviously wrong if Miami wins.

    Come on man-

Any team can win on any given Sunday, we see it every year almost every week.

That's what makes the NFL great, as long as one of our rivals isn't on the better end of that greatness.

If Miami beats them then I guarantee they will lose a bunch more games too...but Miami won't beat them.

I was thinking the same thing last week for the Pats/Ravens. Bottom line, its division first and seeding second. Its to early to worry about the seeding and we are only 1/2 game ahead of the Pats. We should root against the Pats and Fins, but if the Fins do win this week, at least there is a bright side.

just enjoy the game, it's a win win for us either way.

pitt wins and the fish are long gone in the rear view mirror.

the fish win and pitt has yet another loss to overcome with the rapist at the helm.

Yup, the combined win % of this game would be a big ole .500.

I hate both teams, but I respect the Steelers. That's the difference for me.

I could not ever bring myself to root for the Phins, regardless of the situation. When they play the Pats, I can't even watch the game. It's like choosing between cancer and AIDS.

A lose for Miami is a win in my book any day! Besides New England is the one we should be worried about

I don't want to play two games this year at Heinz Field and I just don't believe the Dolphins will be a threat later in the year. That doesn't mean I'm going to root for them, but I won't be unhappy if they win.

I'll root for the Bills when they play the Steelers.

Not that this is completely on topic, but being 21 years old, obviously my history as a Jets fan is not as long as pretty much everyone else on this board. That being said, I did have the opportunity to pick up the Jets History DVD at Wal-Mart this week to try and really understand what my dad and everyone else on this board means when they talk about the SOJ. I can honestly say my first memory of being a Jets fan was the morning after the Midnight Miracle against Miami, because my dad was furious that he went to bed before the 4th quarter. I have been an absolute die hard the last few years now that I'm old enough to truly appreciate the team and rep my Jets gear everyday while living in PA. All that being said, I HATE the Dolphins already, mostly because of losing both games last year, as well as seeing all of the bad blood in our history. It is kind of weird to see anybody on here saying they would be ok with the Dolphins winning this early in the year. Fuck that, if the Phins go 3-13 I will be happy with the 2 seed haha.
