And all they needed to do was get into field goal range for the win. They had plenty of time too. The refs fucked up by not getting the fumble on the field, but they got the call right on the replay (by rule) and the Fins had an opportunity to win the game still. They failed. Fuck them. I hope they lose there next 3 games and fall to 3-6.
San Diego pissed me off. The guy who missed the lateral pass and just stood there, fucking dummy. And to top it off they get a golden opportunity to win the game and can't even get it to OT. WFAN hooked me up early with the Miami game, first use I've had for that station in a while.
Yes, they were quite aggravating to watch. If they weren't the stupidest team in football they'd have easily beat the Pasts, unfortunately they are. How do you leave a live ball sitting on the turf, not once, but TWICE in the same game?
Gee...that would be as bad as...I don't know....as a billion dollar sports business hiring Norv Turner to be a Head Coach...Twice...
You are absolutely correct. First off, I wasn't trying to insult anyone. I certainly did not call you anything. I honestly believed that the force out was taken out of the book, without even more language that muddies the grey area even more (IMO). Now the refs have to decide whether a player was forced or "carried" out of bounds? I thought they were trying to take the subjectiveness OUT of the rules, not make them more subjective! That said, sorry if you felt insulted, it certainly was not my intent. I rarely agree with your opinions, but I respect them and your knowledge of the game.
The Pats and Ravens looked very average the week after a huge game between them. I think the Jets looked very average last week against Denver. What you have to remember is all 3 (4 if you count the Jets) won! That is what the best teams do. They win those games where they don't play their best...
No sorry the Phins lost the game in the very first minutes of the game when they could not convert either of the 2 fumbles they recovered within the red zone into TDs IMHO
On the topic of Refs sucking..any see them in GB last night? There were some bad ones but two that stuck out to me. 1st the Percy Harvin TD catch, which was overturned on review...the Ref was staring right at his feet! how the hell did he call him in bounds he was less than 5 feet away and staring right at the line. The other im not sure if im right or not but on the Interception that MInnesota made in the endzone, where 1 Viking (41 i believe) tipped it to another (20?) Number 41 ran out of bounds and then was the first person to touch the ball, I dont see why the rule only applies to offensive recievers because by rule he has the same rights to the ball and became the potential "receiver" Was very surpirsed there was no mention on the interception by anyone on Tv or even the packers themselves. Or maybe im wrong and it only applies to offense.
only game of the three the refs cost was the Steelers Dolphins game that was clearly a fumble before crossing the goal...clearly a blown call. One thing I will say and this applies to every game every play, Refs need to stop calling phantom interference for little or no contact and need to start calling offensive receivers for push offs which are often far more physical than probably 30-40% of pass interference calls on defensive units....This is not just a Jets thing, it's an every team thing.
I thought the Steelers call was absolutely correct. It appeared as if the Dolphins would have recovered, sure. But it was CLEARLY a scrum and the whistle was blown, so players may have let up. There was no indisputable evidence that the Dolphins had recovered. So I thought it was an excellent call.
His name is Fitzpatrick and he is not an every week type starter in the NFL. Simply doesn't have the accuracy. Don't worry, we'll be drafting Luck next year and will once again be relevant.
Been thinking that for a couple of weeks now. It's still early, but that game could be a huge factor in settling the AFCE. Back to the OP... The Patriots had no business winning that game, but the refs had nothing to do with that. SD played what might have been the dumbest game I've ever seen a team play. They literally handed the ball to the Patriots... twice.
