I think you make a really good point. I agree that he seems to be over-thinking right now and not letting his instincts take over. I don't know if it's coaching or if he just has too much going through his head at every snap. I think it's a bit like when you first start playing golf. Every time you step up to the ball it's like "OK, head down, feet shoulder width apart, etc., etc." There's only so much information your brain can act upon in that short amount of time.
I think Mark had an average game. He made a bad throw on the one that could have been picked and he didn't see Braylon wide open on the roll out. I do attribute the majority of the offensive struggles to the drops though, and also to whoever allowed Woody to be manned up on Clay Mathews so often, that was just stupid.
Haha yeah I guess I did. Maybe he can go the other way now. At his news conference this week he should just look around and go "Hey we're 5-2. WHY SO SERIOUS????!!!"
He had a better game than Rodgers. ARod overthrew recievers several times yesterday. That could also be our DBs slowing the WRs down, but he did miss on some routes. But Sanchez took all the time he had, ran through his checkdowns, and made good thhrows on the run when he had to. I noticed on 2 passes, his arm and the ball were tipped while in his throwing motion, and a few more batted down. Neither things were in his ability to control. Add to that the drops, and you come up with a highly accurate day passing. The play of Cotch, Holmes, and Keller lost this game. That and the 3rd down defense, but only giving up FGs in a game should always be enough to win.
That was an awful idea man. Benching the leader of the team to prove a point about accountability wasn't a solution. What needs to be fixed to improve the offense is mental errors. Boneheaded penalties and awful execution of plays ruined the offense yesterday.
I think over coaching is the prime suspect. Let the kid drop back read the field and take his best shot.
That seems to be a ongoing theme each week, our receivers have a lot of drops. Maybe some aren't counted as drops, but if it hits their hands it should be caught. The Jets need to practice on catching the ball. I did notice Mark really threw some lasers, maybe they aren't used to that. Braylon had a great catch on that under thrown ball. As surprising as it may be he has the best hands on the team right now. Again, they need to get Keller back into the game.
Just wondering why Keller? Penalty sucked but Mangold's hurt much worse. No way after rewatching you can blame interception on him, he was going to the ground on the catch, physically impossible for him not to be down when Woodson pulls ball out. No way you expect to fight for the ball after the play is over.
Why would you want Sanchez benched when he's the leader of a team with a winning record? It's not like he's the second coming of Ryan Leaf. Of course he could be if the coaches start messing with his head.
Is this just the generic complaint now?? Green Bay was 2-14 on 3rd down. I agree about the receivers, this loss is on them.
Good point. I did not think to mention the tipped passes too. I don't get the criticism on his pocket presence. He looked solid to me. I think some people just look for the worst in a loss.
I don't know where you come from, but from where I come from, no TDs and a Loss is a bad day for everyone. No matter whose fault it is.
While that may be true I honestly don't see how any sane person could look at that game and say Sanchez played good.
not hitting braylon for that long TD when he was wide fucking open was pretty damn sad. i also feel we shouldve run more. defense couldnt have played better IMO
Not great, but he was good. Add half of those dropped passes in, including those BS INT's, and he completes about 60% probably for a couple of TD's too. I love how he throws the ball on the run, that play to Keller was great. Schotty should call some more designed rolllouts, Sanchez really seems to thrive on that.
Lions fan visiting before the coming game. Just curious, as both Stafford and Sanchez were drafted pretty close together in '09... if you could swap, even up, would you do it? Most Lions fans seem to view Stafford as the better QB. We admit that Sanchez certainly has better numbers, but the thinking is that he was dropped into a much better situation. The Jets were a much more complete team in '09 and certainly look to be much better in '10 as well. But if you dropped Stafford in place of Sanchez, would they be better or worse? It's been a minor debate over on the Lion's forum I'm on for over a year now. One of those things where, at least for Lions fans, they'll always be sorta linked. I suspect Jets fans don't think about it as much as the Jets are contenders and you've got better things to do.
Did not read the whole thing, but what you have is a injury prone QB. I love Sanchez, taking us to the AFC champ game in his rookie year is not too bad and leading us to a 5-2 record is great. Earlier in the year our offense was winning us games, not our defense. I hear Lions fans are scared about Stafford's ability to stay healthy and want the Lions to lock up Hill.
