Just watching the Steelers and the middle of their defense is so much faster then the Jets. Their NB, linebackers and safeties run circles around our guys.

Harris, Scott, Thomas and Pace are all very good linebackers against the run but as pass defenders none of them have any business covering one on one against most RB's or tight ends.

Drew Coleman just seems to have no feel for covering anyone. They either have to double his man, play zone or give Lowery/Wilson a chance.

Pool seems like a nice player but he really isn't making much of an impact. He's the only guy at safety or linebacker who might have the size/speed combo to cover tight ends/running backs.

Leonhard is a very solid player but not without limitations. He's a great tackler but again he has no business covering most players due to his lack of size. He's great against the run and rarely misses a tackle.

The Jets defense is one of the best against the run and teams are basically terrified to throw at revis or cromatie but as we've seen we really have no answer for tight ends or slot receivers.

I'm really hoping Wilson steps up soon, we have trouble covering slot receivers.

When you have guys like Revis and Cromartie on the outside, it's even tougher not to get exposed at that position.

(Not saying it's a negative we are covering them outside, but the slot issue needs to be addressed)

In terms of natural talent, you are correct, but Rhodes did not have a place on this team.

He was a cancer in the locker room, and didn't put enough effort into football.

He is a giant pussy, didn't get a long with the coaches, and is not a Rex Ryan type of player.

It was the right move to get rid of him.

what i dont understand is why didnt we move cromartie to the slot to cover nate burleson...move coleman to the outside and give him safety help....against teams like the lions that cant run the ball especially...

So an octogenarian like Farrior is faster than Harris or Scott?

You don't put Cro in the slot for the same reason you don't put Randy Moss in the slot.

If only Kerry Rhodes had 1/10th of the heart that Leonhard has.

Safeties that don't like to tackle are about as useful as Wr's that can't catch.

I was using their defense as an example. If you can't see that we have issues with the NB, speed of our linebackers and the lack of any player that can cover an opponents tight end then I don't know what your watching.

No defense is perfect and our size helps us play the run but it also causes problems in the passing game.

We have better corners then the steelers but they have Harrison, Timmons and Woodley at linebacker and Polamalu at safety. We have no one who can compare with those guys.
