The Ryans are good for the NFL.

On a side note, Mangini has definitely changed his ways. He wouldn't even let his assistant coaches talk to the media while he was here.

Rex tried to get him here in 09, but Cleveland denied I think.

With Rex's success so far as head coach of the Jets, Rob should get more looks as a possible head coaching candidate. Jesus they sound exactly alike. Put him in the NFC and have a chance for two Ryans in the superbowl.

Man the NFL would be bending over backwards for that type of PR.

Anyone know if the NFL required Head Coaches to make their Coordinators available to the media?

If they didn't, I give full credit for Mangini for lightening up some. Can't get a diamond sticking a lump of coal up his ass. Belichick on the other hand can put quite a rock on your girls finger.

BTW it is scary how much they look alike.

Sure does. Sounds exactly the same. Wow.

Rob gets a haircut and he'll be hired, then again with the long hair we can all tell him and Rex apart. The two of them as head coaches is a nutty scenario, isn't it? Rob - please take over an NFC team....

This year too. I think Mangini was a good coach for the Jets. I wish he had this personality while he was here tho.

He's still on the Jets payroll who gives up Braylon Edwards, Brodney Pool and Mark Sanchez's draft rights and all for a bunch of crap in return

although i still at times get annoyed with rex and some of his shenanigans he has definitely grown on me. this thing between him and his brother was humorous.

hopefully the team remembers just how absolutely terrible they played last week as it seems we the fans have forgotten.

I didn't know Rex had a twin brother. That was freaky. Yeah, Thanksgiving at the Ryans must be a hoot.

That couldn't be since Rob was a free agent so to speak at the close of the 2008 season. He was then hired by Mangini. So I would say no Rob was never in Rex's sights. Besides Rex is his own D cordinator and while I don't know it for a fact my bet is Rob probably wouldn't be interested in taking orders from his twin. Your right though their very much alike and great defensive guys to boot.

Another quote from Robs presser, thought you guys might enjoy it:

This game has more sub plots then a soup opera.

    Rex on Rob:

    Mangini on the Jets:

Edwards on the Browns: Ohio State -vs- Michigan

Every ex Jet in the NFL against the Jets

If the side show doesn't spark your interest the game is sure too. This is going to be smash mouth football, just like the Browns like it.

I sure hope they Mic up the Ryans this weekend, even the Dad, Buddy.

BTW Buddy is going to be at the game..............

I'm not sure if there is a rule or not? Does your OC and DC give news conferences in NY?

I know that when RAC was the HC in Cleveland one week he would have the DC the next it would be the OC, the next it would be the ST coach, so my guess is no there isn't a requirement.

Mangini has been pretty consistant about the OC and the DC doing pressers every week, so on that front there really isn't anything different.

Loved this, been a season ticket holder in Cleveland for 30+ years. - the 3 years we didn't have a team. Good to see a fan that loves his team thru the good and the bad.

Every Thursday the OC, DC and STC give press conferences for the Jets.

No chance. Jerry Jones only wants a coach he can manipulate. That's why the interim coach, whatever his name is, will be back next year.

My bold prediction: Rob Ryan will be coaching the Texans next year.
