Dang, I missed that part of it I guess. That's a scary sight to see on the field. You knew it was bad when the Baltimore player was signaling to the Pitts bench for help immediately.
Plus their D is not coming together like it did this time last year. I also think their CS is average.
I agree, it seems Caldwell has no answers for that defense. Through the years, I read about how Colts WRs run alot of option routes, routinely changing the route based on what they saw out of the defense as the play developed. It just seems like the only one Manning can trust to run the right route as Manning sees it is Wayne. Garcon to a lesser extent. The loss of Clark was the biggest blow, as he was easily the number two option. A few of those INTs he had last night just seemed to be the receiver and Manning being a bit off on timing and not running the precise routes he had become accustomed to with guys like Wayne, Harrison, Clark and then Collie.
Funny....I'm watching the replay of Jets/Browns and Elam who made the big play yeterday, just coughed up the pic against the Jets. We win by more than 7 tonight. However.....I think Chicago/Pittsburgh determines the winner of our Division. Win tonight...Beat Pittsburgh...One seed. I would disagree about not playing well. (Though agree about not playing as well as we should).... NE was not playing great against Detroit in the first half on Thanksgiving. But they won. The only difference is a second year player, versus a vet player, and we played against Stafford, not some scrub...) Teams have made really clutch plays late against us to be sure...but as bad as that is for us...it's also been a remarkable string of luck against us. Regression to the mean will come into play at some point.
We just have to take one game at a time and win it! The way we have been playing, I think every game is not an easy game for us to win.
It's also not just that. It's also possible that Tom Moore is not quite the teacher he once was. He's been a coach for nearly 50 years. He's run the best offense in the game since Bill Walsh, yet...they were allowing him to start stepping out....... Manning may be a smart Qb, but he's not an OC....and certainly not Tom Moore. I'd be curious to see what that organizational function is now.
Nothing earth shattering here, but I think that it's still a 4 horse race between the Steelers, Ravens, Jets and Pats. Even if the Jets and Steelers get 1st round byes, I fully expect that the Pats or Ravens come to town in round 2 and could easily win.
Don't be fooled by the stats with the Patriots D. A lot of the numbers and points they give up have come in the 4th quarter when for what ever reason they play prevent D almost exclusively. If they start playing D in the 4th like they do in the first 3 they are going to be a very tough D to play.
If Brady got his nose busted like that, they'd stop the game and have him airlifted to to the plastic surgeon.... Not a Big Ben fan, but he hung in to the finish and won the game.
Not hung up on the stats. Last week the Lions second string QB was kicking their butts until the pats O finally showed up in the 4th quarter. They don't win games on D, they win them on Brady's arm.
