Seriously, so now who calls the plays? I'm happy Pool had his best game as a Jet last week but in no way is he ready for that duty. Why can't Revis do it? He's getting paid the kind of money to be our defensive captain. Side note: I can't believe we only have 7 picks as a team, Revis had 6 last year on his own.
Rex looked very uncomfortable answering the Alosi questions. I might be reading more into his body language than i should, but he looked down while answering and stumbled through the answers unlike how he responds to everything else. I hope there's not more to this story than we have heard... like Westhoff told them where to stand, etc... Could be he's just a little embarassed by the situation.
Let Emmanuel Cook call the defensive plays....it's not like the last 2 weeks were any better with WhyteBoi calling them.
Bart Scott did it last year when Leonhard came out. I think the defense has evolved where the secondary really needs someone calling their coverages, but we may have to go back to Scott now.
The defense looked awful last week. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find out Rex ordered this.
Hopefully Lowery can step up and take advantage of this opportunity. I hope he can do well as a Safety. It can fill a huge hole for this team going forward beyond this season.
Revis can't do it because he's not primarily in the middle of the field. Not as much as the next guy, Eric Smith is solid when he starts. Our defense had arguably it's best game of the season last week. I thought it was Harris that called them last year when Leonhard broke his thumb?
Rex didn't order it. He just stated as much - he wasn't even aware of it - said that repeatedly - apparently other teams have been doing this stuff as well - which he alluded to.
E.Smith is more of a liability to this defense than an asset....if you guys are worried about the defensive playcalling...i'm sure the CS can find someone capable to fill those shoes. Someone mentioned Harris.....i'd be willing to explore that avenue. but E.Smith runs around like he's got cinderblocks tied to his ankles when trying to cover receivers....I saw all I needed to see of him in that Pats game. Fuck E.Smith.
We lost our primary defensive play-caller a few days before the Patriots game, and got our ass handed to us. It's not so much the actual position, as it's the role they play.
