Given's Ben's ability to escape sacks, I don't play zone against them. Cro on Wallace and Revis on Ward. Let Coleman/Wilson take Randle-El/Brown/Sanders. Blitz like crazy since the O-line is susceptible to the pressure. #1 key is tackling. Ben, Mendenhall, and Ward will fight for every yard and don't go down easy. Any sloppy tackling will kill them.
oh yeah I know lol I was impressed ... i was referring to the physical pressure being put on by the defense. Last week was a rough game for the him and the receivers as you alluded to. I know we got pressure on him and he certainly put some throws up that should've been picked. Sean Smith dropped 3 INT's alone I believe. If he can settle down, the kid is money, but if he gets mentally rattled ... things could get deadly if he's being careless with Palomalu roaming around
Just disect what the Pats did against the Steelers.....same thing they did to us...the short passes over and over
Sorry, that kind of pressure. When he's on he is on, during those other pressure games I talked about he was also pressured in this way too. lol - He made a lot great plays escaping, lengthening the play and throwing the ball well. All things he did not really do these past 2 weeks. The play where Cotchery hurt his groin, Sanchez escaped a few tackles threw a perfect pass on the game winning drive. So he can do it, just needs to remember he can do it. If that makes sense -
yeah back after week 3 I came on here and called him a playmaker. The Browns game, the Cotchery play killed me lol. I was waaaaaaaaiiiiiiittting for a mistake that never came. kudos. The Texans game, those 2 throws to Edwards and Holmes at the end were perfectly thrown. When he's good he's amazing; when he struggles his mindset, emotions, and confidence are affected the entire game.
Fair enough. I think the Steelers are a tough team to get back on track with. That's all. Well it did take about a half a season for the Patriots to get on track. The offense needed to re-vamp and the defense definitely needed to improve. They had a wake-up call in Cleveland. I think even if the Jets lose Sunday, they'll get into the playoffs and then it's a whole new season. 0-0
It's impressive. He is a tough bird. Maybe this is the game where he falls apart and throws 3 INT's. It's certainly possible with their offensive line but then the Jets haven't been do good lately with pressuring the QB have they? Which weakness prevails? I don't know. I think while both teams have weaknesses, the Steelers still have a cohesive team identity while the Jets are looking to regain theirs. That's one reason I think the Steelers will prevail. They're worried more about the game then their identity.
take thier pass rush out and we win this,,!! and to do that is by the RUN.. have conner power run it when its short and let hlomes loose.... i think we will win
This is great...football talk! Patsfan2003, you are by far one of the best Pats fans and I'd like to say congrats on your season. You guys are looking pretty unstoppable, but then again Brady is always unstoppable against the Steelers, so that's nothing new. Good luck the rest of the way. For the Dolphins fan who said it's like they use duct tape on Ben, I had to laugh. We had our Christmas party yesterday and I work with the Steelers docs. We asked the one doc if most of the players will be ready for the POs, he said they're pretty much all being held together by duct tape. Sorry, I just found that funny. As for Sunday's game, like you've been saying, it could go either way. While the O-line is our big weakness, we're almost conceeding to the secondary being a greater weakness. Not that our O-line is good generally, but we don't have any starters playing except Adams and he is playing hurt. Pouncey is doing a great job at center, but he's a rookie. I don't know how Sunday will turn out, I make no predictions, I just hope for a good game and after seeing all the injuries this team has and are playing through, I'm ALMOST wishing more for no more injuries than an actual win. Lord, can't believe I'm saying that, lol.
Same here, expect we need the win..lol These past few weeks have been killer, we lost our Defensive QB, now we lost our backup defensive QB. Woody is out, so many other players have been listed almost the entire year. Not even including Jenkins, I guess we just got used to that since we lost him last year too.
Yeah, this time of the year there aren't too many "healthy" teams left, that's why I'm against an 18 game season. Lord, that will lead to a SB with all backups. I don't wish any injuries on the Jets either, I meant to say that before. Neither team can afford too many more. Good luck on Sunday and win or lose, these are 2 good teams who are struggling right now, but doesn't make either team less worthy of a PO spot.
that loss to you guys we had is still killing me ... that call! aaahhh If we miss the playoffs (which is pretty likely) then that loss is gonna kill me offseason! lol
The way Head and Shoulders runs around back there like a kid that needs Ritalin, I worry Sanchez will make a few throws that will cost us. He needs to play about 1000 times smarter for the Jets to have a chance this week.
