"Sunday could be the ideal opportunity for Jets CB Darrelle Revis to get his first interception of the season. Bears quarterback Jay Cutler told ESPN.com he has no plans of avoiding Revis, like so many before him have. "No, you can't assume the Bears will stay away from Revis' side]," Cutler said. "We've got good receivers. We trust the guys in our locker room. I tell those guys: 'You're gonna have to get open.' Whatever it takes, we're gonna have to find a way to complete balls [on Revis' side] because you can't eliminate one side of the field.” Revis earned a reputation as the top cornerback in the league last year despite finishing second to Packers CB Charles Woodson in the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year voting. He held out all of training camp before finally agreeing to a re-worked, four-year contract. But he has been hampered by hamstring injuries for parts of the season that cost him two games and slowed him for others. In his first three seasons in the league Revis had three, five and six interceptions, but is still looking for his first of 2010. “It's too hard to do,” Cutler said of staying away from Revis. “It gives them too much of an advantage. So Johnny [Knox], and Devin [Hester], and all those guys, they're gonna have to find a way." Cutler has cut down on his interceptions in leading the Bears to an NFC North title this season. He had 26 last year, his first in Chicago, but has cut that number in half heading into Week 16. It would even be lower if not for being victimized by the Redskins’ DeAngelo Hall — another one of the NFL’s elite corners — who picked off Cutler an NFL-record-tying four times in Washington’s Week 7 win. "It doesn't mean you don't do it, you just have to be careful on how you're gonna do it," Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz said. "[Revis is] very consistent, very, very, very confident in his skill, and does not overreact. He's really as good as I've seen in many years. But that doesn't mean that you don't create opportunities. It's a terrific challenge for our guys, there's no question." Cutler said he'd go right back after Hall after he threw 4 INT's to him earlier this year. This doesn't surprise me at all. He's a cocky fucker, like our coach is. That said, this is obviously good for us. Challenge away Jay!
good this is poetry as far as i'm concerned. Jay- please throw at Revis as often as possible. If this happens. i love the chances of getting the 11th win of the season .
Cutler is an idiot. He should be ripe for a couple of picks this week. When they played the Pats they showed how the footballs Brady was using had been rubbed up so the shine was completely gone off of them, Brady explained that it helped him grip the ball better. Cutler's looked like it were brand new out of the box. When they asked Cutler about it, he said he didn't have time to waste on such things. A few years ago Brady and Manning got a bunch of the best QB's involved in requesting the league allow each team's QBs to prepare the footballs themselves. If it didn't affect anything, you think these guys would go to great lengths to get the rules amended to allow for it? Just another example of Cutler being a dumb jock who is gonna live and die (mostly) on his athletic ability alone.
Revis will be his new receiver for the day. I predict three receptions with two tough drops for Revis. You would think Cutler learned his lesson. I guess not.
hopefully when Revis has those two tough drops, Cutler gets pissed and starts throwing to cromartie, his other receiver.

Yea....good idea Cutler. Go for it. Forget about the nickel back or TEs go right after Revis and Cromartie.
On the contrary, I think it's Cutler's faith in his own abilities. Basically he believes that his skills and play are what make the difference , not the quality of the ball. And while guys like Brady and Manning are requesting to prepare the balls themselves, to me, to be honest, I think it makes them look like prissy bitches who want to find an excuse for any lackluster play on their part. As a coach I would love Cutler's attitude at QB. He displays confidence in his own ability and doesn't shy away from a challenge. That being said, I love his attitude, but that doesn't necessarily translate to wins. And if he decides to force throws on Revis' side, it won't translate to a win this Sunday.
I remember when the Broncos were looking to trade Cutler and there was talk of him going to the Jets, so glad we didn't. He's a solid QB but I think we have a bigger upside with Sanchez plus it didn't cost us a bunch of draft picks down the line
This is music to my ears. Sounds like Cutler wants to gift wrap this one for us. Hell throw Brunell in there, Sanchez you can get a few weeks off to rest for the PO's
OK, when you start your team you can have Cutler and equal TDs to Ints, and I'll take Brady and Manning. BTW, they got more than a dozen other QB's involved, including Brees and Rivers. I guarantee your boy Sanchez rubs his balls before every game. (Sorry for going for the cheap laugh :beer
What else is he going to say? Yes I plan on not throwing to anybody that Revis is on? Jay gets sacked more than any other QB in the NFL and he is probably sick of getting hit - I doubt he feels like holding the ball for much longer than he absolutely has to - so he probably will be chucking it towards whoever looks to be open.
I respect Cutler's competitiveness, but he is going to be regretting it, hopefully, Revis can catch some balls maybe Crom as well, Jets are last in the league in INT, let's get some TO's baby!
Why wouldn't he challenge him? Everybody has and with few exceptions they have been successful this year. This isn't last year's version of Revis.
