It doesn't matter to the degree that the Jet win gets glossed over by the media, Jet haters, and sojf. They go on like Brady and Belichick took the week off. And if there are "tons" of exceptions as you say, that kinda makes them not exceptions, no?
" Newyorkjetsforeverontop", I like your honest assesment. Any given sunday. You guys are in the playoffs, and it's anyones game. Good luck to you! I apologize for not knowing how to reply with your quote. I havent figured that out yet. Peace!
The question is "Why does the media treat the Jets win over the Patriots as if it were meaningless?" So we are talking about people's perception of these teams... and yes, perception is affected by the difference in points in a win... yes it is affected by when that win occurs. If you don't make those kinds of judgments when you watch other teams play football, if you judge teams entirely by their win-loss record, then fine... apparently you are above all of us... but you do, as do we, as does the media, and it would be unreasonable for them not to. No one is saying that we cannot be beaten. No one is saying that the loss should not count in our record/seedings. We are simply saying that by any reasonable judgement, we are a different team then we were in week 2, and by any reasonable judgement we more than made up for that loss with a dominating win when making a comparison of the two teams.
Right. It's not uncommon at all for a team to respond to a blow out with a big game the next time the two teams meet up again. In fact the Patriots will face all the teams they beat in the regular season. All teams that want "another shot". Should be interesting.
I think Jets enjoyed the media love from week 2 for quite a while. It just doesn't last forever particularly when you lay an egg later on.
Your right. The pats in the first few weeks were scaring me. Brady throwing low , inaccurate passes. Defense, well you know that story, like 27th. But things changed. You guys are in the playoffs, thats all that matters. It's anyones game. Hey look , I live in NJ, and a lot of my friends are Jets fans. Yea, maybe Rex should tone it down a little, but damn this is gonna be a great playoff season. We're all in it. We still get to watch FB. I'm not gonna sugar coat it, the jets are my biggest enemy. And I KNOW how you all feel about the Pats, but I'm loving the tenacity of the AFC this year. Woo Hoo. See you guys after Indy!
