...seems like he pulls straight back,, lets the recievers determine direction AND then he tries to close the gap.
how can he be on same team as revis and use that technique? why does RR allow him to use it? seems like in coverage hes a liabilty,,,,,,,the other thing he rarely does is turn and play the ball!!....hes frustrating to watch ..Garcon chewed him up last nite

he was never a physical gut but he really needs to start using bump and run.

The TD pass for Garcon was not his fault.

They were bracketing Garcon and Pool was supposed to help over top. Pool took a bad angle which left Cro exposed and unable to close the gap.

That's correct, it was blown coverage all the way.

Since they only threw to Wayne once, Cro got most of Manning's passes thrown his way.

Outside of that one long play, he allowed about 50 yards- roughly the amount he got back on the key kickoff return.

1 TD for the Colts in the game. Nobody thought that would happen.

Cro is just not as good as Revis. He's not going to consistantly shut guys down like Revis does.

I'm not going to get on him for his coverage skills in the playoffs when he has been doing it all year and everybody has been pleased with his performance.

There is not doubt that Pool fucked up on that play too but unless Rex is just an asshole Cro was at fault for that pass.

No doubt he needs to be more physical at the LOS but we really need safety help next year.

Actually one of the sites (SNY? ESPN? not sure) said that it was a 3 way blown coverage. Coleman was supposed to jam Garcon @ the LOS, Pool took a bad angle, and Cro failed to pick him up in coverage.

I'm not going to kill Cro. He's still an upgrade from last year's CB list. Much less of a drop off from Revis to Cro than Revis to Strickland/Sheppard.

Besides his return skills made up for it. I hope the Jets let him receive on PR/KR again next week.

cro played like dick shit last night. yes we need a pass rush to help him, but he needs to get his fucking hands on the wr at the line.

you see revis on his man from the line, and he has 1 hand on the dude while watching the QB. he basically uses his 1 hand to move the wr off his spot.. guy must have ridiculous upper body strength.

... he kinda reminds me of brad smith cause hes so rangy athletic and fast but youd think rex would make him work with revis more....the only thing cro tries to protect is his outside.

He can cover vertical routes great. His problem is he plays too much off coverage and doesn't jam the receiver, and can't cover laterally to save his life. And he can't tackle or is just afraid to. Let's hope he's more physical next week because it will really help his game. Brady already knows this about Cro, especially that 4th and 1 play where he wasn't quick enough to react to Branch's slant move and got burned for a TD.

It's funny, Cro gets beat a few times (with the one big TD) and people like junc want to act like he was torched the entire game. Peyton Manning DESTROYED us for a whopping 225 passing yards at home in the dome yesterday. Garcon was wide open on every play but Manning just couldn't find him.

Get over it, not all DB's are Revis, they get beat.

The Colts scored 35, 30, 34, 31 and 23 the previous 5 weeks, our defense shut them down pretty well.

Thank you! Was just about to post this. JFC, Pool closed late, was out of position.

1 blown coverage...I thought he had a good game. I think as Jets fans we are spoiled with Revis. There is only one Revis. Cromartie played great and he made one of the plays of the games by returning the ball on the last drive to help set up our game winner.

During the broadcast talking Cro up as a great bump and run corner but saying he was running the risk of getting beat because he was not playing that style,

I thought WTF have these guys been watching Cro at all in recent years. He played throughout the game how he always plays. This week I hope REx gets on him to be more physical. He has the size surely.

It's Peyton Manning, bro. Is Cro perfect? Absolutely not. But he's a fine #2 corner. If the Jets can sign him within reason they have to bring him back

Totally agree. Cro is not Revis... no one is. As the "not Revis" guy, Manning has no choice but to go that way.

People need to get off the Cro bashing. He more than made up for deficiencies in what was arguably the most important play of the game last night... the return at the end.

We need to get Leonhard back next year and develope a legitimate, pure, non-blitzing pass rush, and we can be back in the business again of pressuring QBs while holding our own in the secondary.

This is basically it. No reason to pick on Cro after that game.

Cromartie's coverage skills are still better than Holmes punt return skills...needed somewhere to call attention to that, this will do.
