Its not even football, its completely embarrassing.

The guys spend most of the game just standing around acting like jerkoffs.

The second half of the Pro Bowl seems to be what Goodels vision of what the nfl is. A bunch of god damn pansies standing around afraid to hit anybody.

Personally I think they should completely get rid of the probowl and replace it with some kind of rookie bowl for first and second year players who actually have something to play for (not even necessarily for star rookies who teams dont want to risk getting injured)

Id much rather see guys buried on their teams depth charts like John Skelton or Joe Mcknight play their hearts out hoping it accelerates their careers with some national attention, instead of a bunch of "stars" trying not to dampen their fricken tampons.

Sad reality is though, no way the probowl will ever go away or change as long as Goodell is the commish, and this seems to be the direction the nfl will continue to move for years to come.

I'm sure for every realistic fan that hated it you will find 9 retards who spewed cum all over their mother's home made pizza bagels every 12 second pro bowl drop back.

    Absolutely

Like Bradshaw at the end of the game jerking off because that offensive lineman scored a td. "Wow that was terrific I loved it"

What? both offensive lines giving each other hand jobs, or the fact that nobody on the defense even pretended to try to tackle anybody.

And im sure youll see it on espn 1000 times this week lauded as being a exciting top play.

is it really that important that these guys need to kill themselves for you at the pro bowl? its an exhibition. it used to be a nice treat for guys who didnt make a ton of money to get a vacation to hawaii at the end of a hard year.

    football isnt really that important.

You mean is it important for them to play football in a football game ?

    I would think so.

If fans wanted to wanted to watch dancing with the stars they should change the channel.

And yes it USED to be a way for guys to make some extra cash. Instead its pampered superstars mostly undeserving getting voted in based on a popularity contest, who are already making TENS OF MILLIONS of dollars getting in.

Its not like 99% of the guys in the probowl give two shits about that money anymore.

I agree I think they should abolish the game, it's pathetic half-ass football that can still somehow lead to injury. When it comes to achievments, all that matters is the 1st and 2nd team All-Pro selections.

yeah as i said its an exhibition. at this point its a get together of the best players in the league and a light hearted game of football. they might as well play flag football. its not about being a great game.

why cant people just take things for what they are... would you like the winning conferences team to be the home team in the superbowl? cant it just be a fun game that nobody gives a shit about?

    I was thinking flag football.

Or just a skills competition weekend without the game, which makes a mockery of the sport.

I shut it off in the second quarter today.

In agreement with what the OP has to say, I think it would it be cool if a probowler then chooses a young player to play in his place. Like if Mangold gets picked he can pick a guy like Slauson to play in his place. That way you can put the scrappier, younger guys in and watch them battle it out. Seems like a great way to build chemistry between older and younger players and also to make for a much more exciting probowl.

so you think some rookie making league min. is going to come out and risk getting injured and subsequently cut for an exhibition?
baseball is the only all star game that works.thats because it is a heads up gamewith low risk of injury.nhl game todays was 9-8.which i don't understand since the goalies are all stars too.the nba game is 48 min of players trying to throw ally-oops to each other.
btw the fact that you watched is not going to help it go away.

Even though I knew it would be bullshit I was still disappointed that Vick bust any 30+ yard runs. Once he got benched I changed the channel.

Remember, Robert Edwards' career was detroyed by injury when he was playing in a rookie flag football game at the Pro Bowl in January 1999.

I'd be perfectly fine with them naming players to the Pro Bowl (bonuses are in various contracts about it, and it's much easier than being All-Pro, so it's actually attainable for people) and not playing the game. Obviously, however, they're making money on it, or they wouldn't do it.

    yes please.

a skills competition would be great. a few contests for each position, a foot race between cj2k and desean, see which qb can throw it through a tire from the furthest distance, even small things like that would be more fun to watch than the actual pro bowl. donate some money to the charity of the winner's choosing.

it's an exhibition game but they should at least try to find new ways to make the event worth watching. isn't that what an exhibit is supposed to be?

But its not even that. The London game is an 'exhibition' game.
This is just a waste of every-bodies time. Look how many people are in the stands http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-pro-bowl/09000d5d81e036e8/Pro-Bowl-highlights
I wonder if there was a secret ballot within the league how they would vote, keep it/lose it?

For me its had its day and needs to be moth-balled.

wow. If it bothers you that much don't watch.

I personally don't give a shit how hard they play. I know full well how hard they are going to play so I watch not with intensity, but as light hearted as they play.

I think someone just doesn't get it.

The NHL all-star game was just as non-physical. Its a game of offense and fun. Don't take it seriously and you won't be pissed.

I don't like it or hate it, I just don't give a shit and know what I'm about to watch.
