Rodgers is playing so good right now, I don't know how anyone can stop him.

I am and I know I shouldn't b/c we have our share of morons at the games but it was kind of sad to watch people ignore their trophy presentation and focus on talking trash towards Jet fans as they were leaving the Stadium. If that is me I am soaking up every second of that. The Steelers have won too much, it's probably how people feel about the Yanks though on a smaller scale. I'm sure you can understand. It's nothing personal.

Kurt Warner was 97 years old and not playing at the level Aaron Rodgers has been. Take a look at his last performance in a dome (on the road too) rather than outside on the road.

I just see the Steelers secondary as a weakness that Rodgers can and will exploit in perfect conditions. I couldn't care less who wins, I may have a slight preference to have lost to the champs, but really it doesn't matter.

Maybe if Polamalu is back to 100% it won't be as bad as I'm expecting.

Am I the only one rooting for the Steelers? (SteelCurtain aside)

Aside from saying we got beat by the best, I want them to have a Superbowl hangover next year.

Dick LeBeau probably retires if they win it. Another plus for us.

Brady and company don't look quite as impressive once Big Ben ties his titles. Suck it Belichick.

Aaron Rodgers all day man...I like the guy and that Packers team has suffered a ton of injuries and still made it to the Super Bowl.

Steelers had a fluke run and I would hate it if they win.

The Steelers didn't have a fluke run. How is winning 12 games and beating teams as good as the Ravens and Jets a fluke run? I hate Pitt but let's give them some credit, you don't potentially win 3 SBs in 6 years w/o being great.

This year was flukey...Ravens collapse, Jets fell asleep till halftime.

If they can win the SB good for them, but Id rather see the Packers do it...They had a tougher road.

Pitt did to the ravens in the 2nd half what Bal did to them in the 1st half.

You don't think Pitt had anything to do w/ our poor start?

I'm rooting for GB too but I tip my cap to Pitt. They are always good and it's sickening but you have to give them credit.

The Steelers have had plenty of injury problems. Both starting offensive tackles are on IR. Probowl center Pouncey is likely out for the SB. One of the best 3-4 DE out for most of the year. Troy missed some games, Ben missed 4 games due to suspension.

Both teams have overcome injuries to be here

You're not giving Roethlisberger enough credit. Ben makes plays for that offense. He beats people with his legs and his arm and he never panics. Ben is easily a top 4 QB and very well could be even higher on that list.

Personally I like QBs like Ben. My favorite growing up was Elway and Big Ben is very much like Elway was.

He's a very good QB, I'll give him that. But he does not belong in the same conversation as Brady, (Peyton) Manning, and Rodgers. Perhaps he's disadvantaged by playing in a system that primarily runs the ball, but even though he makes a "clutch play" every now and then it's the defense and the running game that ultimately win games for the Steelers. Even if he wins on Sunday I still wouldn't put him in the top 5 active QBs.

Terry Bradshaw was way overrated too. Had a career passer rating of 70 and threw only 2 more TDs than INTs in his career (212-210).

The Steelers have had a lot of luck this year but they capitalized on it. The Dolphins game there was a blown call late and the Bills game Johnson had the worst drop of the season. They beat the Ravens for the division on a tiebreaker but they took advantage of it and are in the SB now.

At any rate, GO PACK GO

You're at least the 4th person I have asked about this matter here at TGG. The previous people I asked did not have an answer. Maybe you'll have one.

What good does it do the Jets if they can say they lost to the "best"? Do they get an award of some sort? Is it supposed to make us Jets fans feel better? Did the Cardinals, Vikings, and Colts get any extra respect last season because they lost in the postseason to the Super Bowl champions?

    ------------

I'd love to see the Steelers lose. I'd love for that team and their fanbase to suffer a bitter defeat and feel the same heartbreak that Jets fans have had to experience.

What? He absolutely belongs in the conversation w/ those other QBs. He makes plays for his team when they need them. He has an incredible ability to extend plays which kills defenses. He's terrific in the clutch. He led the Steelers to a game winning TOUCHDOWN in SB XLIII. Sure they have a great defense and a good running game but that doesn't take away what Roethlisberger does for their offense. Anyone that doesn't recognize him as a top 4 QB in the league isn't evaluating him properly. He doesn't dink and dunk his way down the field and rely on the yards after the catch. I can go on and on about everything I love about Roethlisberger. In my opinion he's a top 4 QB and I respect the way he plays the position better than any other QB in the league outside of Sanchez.

Regarding Bradshaw. He absolutely is not "way overrated". Bradshaw had a rough start to his career but once he settled into the position the Steelers took off. You have to remember that when comparing his stats (rating and TD:INT ratio) you have to consider the fact that the rules for the passing game didn't open up until the 1978 season. After the 1978 season the Steelers threw the ball much more and Bradshaw's numbers imporved dramatically.

    Look at it this way:
1970-73 (Bradshaw's awful start to his career)
    522 comp 1079 att 48.4% 6739 yds 6.2 YPA 41 TDs 73 INTs

1974-77 (Bradshaw had improved but this is before the liberalizing of the passing rules)
    486 comp 940 att 51.7% 6540 yds 7.0 YPA 52 TDs 45 INTs

1978-83 (The passing rules now improve the passing game)
    1017 comp 1882 att 54.0% 14710 yds 7.8 YPA 119 TDs 92 INTs

Warner was playing at a very high level in 2008, especially late in the season.
I don't think it is fair to say Rodgers in '10 was playing on another level than was Warner in '08.

I don't understand what you wrote there. Sanchez is #1 on your I-respect-the-way-these-QBs-play list and Roethlisberger is #2. I get that. What I am not following is the idea that Sanchez rates higher on your respect list than on your top QB list (I'm assuming Sanchez doesn't make your top 4).

Is Mark also in your top 4? lol

    Top 5 Active NFL QBs:
    1) Peyton Manning
    2) Shady Brady
    3) Aaron Rodgers
    4) Mike Vick
    5) Drew Brees

Ben Roethlisberger is not better than any of them. The Steelers win those 2 rings this decade and even 1 or 2 more if one of these guys is their QB.

The Steelers had strong defenses in the 90's but couldn't win without a quarterback. 99 times out of 100 you need a quarterback to win a championship in this league. The only noticeable exception was when Baltimore won a title with Trent Dilfer at QB.

You consider Mike Vick a top 4 QB in this league? How many playoff games has Mike Vick won? He's a gimmick...nothing more.

Peyton manning is one of the best regular season QB's in league history, but come crunch time, he's primarily fallen short time and time again.

I just couldn't figure out that sentence. You wrote it a bit awkwardly. I think you meant that Sanchez is your favorite primarily because he's the Jets QB and that Roethlisberger is your 2nd favorite because of how he plays. However, Roethlisberger might not be in your top 2 best QBs and Sanchez certainly is not. That's now confirmed by your top 10 list there.
