Of course he'll talk about it. Every time he touched the ball this season, or entered a game, CBS referred to him as "Danny Woodhead, cut by the Jets earlier this season."
well considering we cut the kid and hes basically picking up where kevin faulk left off but a better runner. then yeah were gonna hear shit for it as long as hes making plays
And that's fine. It should be mentioned. But it shouldn't be mentioned every single carry. It doesn't need to be told more than the score is.
actually the worst constant mentioning ive heard was after we got raped by NE. the next game against the Phins which we lost. i swear between every snap they found a way to bring up the beating we took the previous week it was comical eventually
That was pretty brutal. They acted as though the game was an accurate representation of the organizations, that the Pats were that great, and the Jets that awful. But I do recall hearing the Woodhead thing brought up time and time again, whether it was the Jets the Pats were playing or not. I have the misfortune of living in Patsland, and it was like that every game.
Hell, he should at least credit the Jets for letting him go. There's no way he would have had the same success playing behind Greene and Tomlinson all season.
oh no i get it. but if the pats ever cut someone and they instantly contributed to us like this. those chowder suckers would never hear the end of it either.
that sucks cuz he was actually good in spurts. hes obviously a WAY better fit in NE's system but he was working hard and never really wasted touches. that being said maybe McKnight can step up this year and ease the pain lol
He's a one year wonder. He's not gonna get many carries next year, 3rd down back and ST's, that's it.
Why can't he have the same success he had last season? As long as he is in that BB/Patriot system he will continue to find success. Bill knows what he can and cannot do and will find a way to get him the ball where he can make plays. I don't think calling him a one year wonder is justified. Maybe if the Pats pick up a big name free agent to fill the backfield or draft a RB but that's just not the Pats. We've never seen them like that and shouldn't plan too.
I wonder how blessed he felt when his old team came into his new house and knocked him out of the playoffs.
I don't understand why this topic is such a big deal to the media. He was definitely a talented player when he was on the Jets roster, and he still is now on the patriots. It was simply a matter of opportunities. Happens in the nfl quite often, especially amongst division rivals. everyone acts like the jets missed out, but the running back position was stacked. This and the Gholston thing has been beaten to death.
