With not much going on in these forums, and after seeing the thread about Sanchezs 39 second workout video. I started thinking Next year which would be more significant to you. Sanchez breaking out and becoming a legit top 10 QB, or Rex finally taking us to the promised land ? I mean the team has never really had a franchise QB, but the thought of Rex finally living up to his promises is hard to beat.
I dont want to be a douche but cmon man... of course a super bowl. And Sanchez can go be a top 11 QB
Sanchez with good numbers or a ring? Really? Its a no shit question. I don't care if Sanchez has a 56% comp his whole career. If he wins a ring or two then it doesn't matter.
Sure but its not a surefire bet. I mean Peyton is considered by many the greatest QB the game has ever seen. And hes only got 1 ring in what 15 years ? Marino another guy one of the all time best, never even got one. Rivers, Mcnabb etc. As important as a great qb is, its not everything. Sanchez being a top 10 qb or not next year, its still coming down on this defense (and running game)
86% of SBs are won by teams with a top 5 franchise QB in that era. So Sanchez becoming good is very important, but the ring trumps him being a high numbers QB. That being said, Calvin is right. If A happens, B usually follows. But if he stays where he's at and they win anyway, then it won't matter. The Jets have their ring.
Really? Because we had a pretty.............. mediocre QB the last two years (not a knock, just a fact based on performance, to be expected, its ok, etc etc etc) and made to the AFCCG twice. And neither loss in either of the games was entirely his fault. Sanchez doesnt need to be elite to get us a ring. Fact? Not really. But the formula has almost worked so far . All for him taken it to a next level. And i FULLY expect it. This year, next year. Rex too for that matter!
Superbowl duh, Big Ben is proof that you can have mediocre #s and still be a top 10 QB in the league today (Not to say Big Ben doesn't have big games because he does)
I think Mark was a top 10 QB this year, #s tell part of the story. W/o him we would have struggled to make the playoffs. When the D struggled, when the run game struggled he and the passing game picked us up. All I want is a SB, I don't care how we get it. We were so damn close this year and we need to finish the job. Mark will be a good QB in this league for years to come and he'll be part of the reason we are contenders but I root for the team more than individuals and I want a Super Bowl!
I want Sanchez to turn into a top 10 QB like Phil Rivers, but not win a superbowl.. You serious man? haahahah. I want this team to win a Superbowl. Can you imagine Rex Ryan holding up the trophy? His press conference? The offseason? Every interview after he wins? He is going to bring it up every presser, and rub it in everybody's face. It's going to be awesome, and it will happen within the next 5 years.
I think they go hand in hand now going forward. Sanchez stepped up big when needed, and now he'll have even more on his shoulders. Which BTW he'll handle beautifully. I do believe with Rex and Sanchez leading the way we will get to the promise land.
We beat Indy and NE on the road in the 2010 Postseason and Cincy and SD in 2009, mainly because of Mark Sanchez. He also played fine in both of his playoff losses. Obviously I'd rather have a SB. However, Mark is going to be the main reason why we win one whether his season stats improve or not.
