Still called the American Dream. I'm.done arguing with you. i take back what I said about Canada. Go fuck yourself, I'm going to bed.
It's just sad that Gholston couldn't become a legit pass rusher from the outside... I was wrong as wrong could be, but I thought we landed the next Ware, Lights Out, Harrison or Suggs type of outside pass rushing freak of nature when we drafted Gholston. I was wrong. We wasted a great pick and passed on many of strong defensive talents for a project player. 4-3 DE with Ohio State, 3-4 DE with Mangini, 3-4 OLB under Rex Ryan followed by moving back to the D-Line as a 3-4 DE last season. Gholston failed @ every position. Nothing more than a project player that speaks volumes of a true bust. just our luck, he'll sign with NE and put up 8 sacks next year as an OLB, or sign with a team like the Steelers and make a strong impact as a 3-4 DE.
To me Gholston is a 4-3DE only... and a mediocre one too... His failure here resides in a) he's mediocre and b) he can play one scheme only. I'd like to see him go to a team like the Rams and see what he can do there...
Apologies if this was posted already. Cimini is tweeting excerpts from Rex's new book. Found this interesting. On Vernon Gholston: "I didn't like the kid coming out of college...thought he was a phony." And..."I told Eric (Mangini) not to draft him, but once I took over as HC I was in VGs corner, and he was one of my guys" eff you Mangini!
