http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/40429/darrelle-revis-wants-a-reality-tv-show New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis would like to do a reality television show with his childhood best friend and manager, John Geiger. Revis Lynn Hoppes looks for sports angles in mainstream TV for ESPN's Page 2. He spoke to Revis about it. "I want to do a show like 'Rob and Big' when they were on MTV," Revis said, referencing the show that followed the lives of skateboarder Rob Dyrdek and bodyguard Christopher "Big Black" Boykin. "That's the kind of show I'd want to do. Those guys are awesome. Me and John are like that." So go ahead, network executives. Give Revis and Geiger a TV show. If guys like Dyrdek and Boykin were able to stay on the air for three seasons, why not give any two people their own series? My next-door neighbor, Scott, and I had some riveting discussions over the fence this weekend. Send some cameras over so we can be on TV, too. There's no possible way it wouldn't be compelling television. geigergeiger
This was inevitable.. his lackey geigergeiger talked about this in like 2009.. he wants to be famous so bad.
As long as he's shutting down receivers, I see no reason why he should get his balls busted for this.
Revis Christ, you gotta be kidding me?!?! just play football, earn your millions and let the garbage TV ideas die......
Shouldn't shock anyone. Those YouTube videos were just the beginning. The jets are no longer a team full of blue collar players. It's also the reason why they win. Get used to this, more and more players will be doing shit like this from now on.
I agree to an extent. Messing around for YouTube is one thing, having a camera crew follow him and his BFF around while he should be training, resting, studying film is completely different. As long as he plays like Revis it'll be fine, but as soon as someone burns him and he's filming a reality show he'll be crucified.
It's a good thing Revis is really fuckin good so we can let bullshit like this slide. I'm just worried that football may soon become an afterthought to acquiring stupid reality show fame every year.
That's what I'm afraid of. Although, Revis has always been a physical player and he's not a prima donna (yet). To be honest, I can't see him having a reality show. Sure he has plenty of fame but guys like TO and Ocho built their careers on being clowns with the media. Revis hasn't acted like that yet.
There is one big difference, sherry is softer then the ghostbusters marshmellow man, Revis is one of the most physical CBs in the game. I remember all the whining after the Hard Knocks and we still ended up in the same place as last year, so long as he gets the job done there is no problem with him getting his friend 15 mins of fame.
Hard Knocks is a NFL films production during TC. It's been shown that having the cameras on them raises the competition. Revis' reality show would inspire him and John to act like bigger asses because it won't be football training based. Revis said he wants to be like Rob & Big. I'm just pointing that out. Just like I said earlier, as long as he plays like Revis he can do whatever the hell he wants.
