After the front office works out deals with "our" guys, Dawan Landry should be the Jets' top target in free agency.

^ I'll agree with that. Afterwards we'll probably need a receiver if Braylon or Santonio leaves.

    manny lawsonnnnnn.

doesnt have the best pass rushing moves, but has crazy speed, and is one of the best coverage linebackers.

Recently, we had one bust in Gholston and that's one bust too many. Why would we need someone else's bust on this team?

Probably because neither lived up to their billing.

I remember reading somewhere that Lawson was tired of playing in the 3-4.

We need pass rushers, not workout warriors that can cover.

I dont always take profootballfocus seriously, but it's interesting to say he was one of the best pass rushers the past few years, or last year. Caused a ton of disruptions, but never got the deal done by getting to the Quarterback.

But we all know sacking the QB isnt all there is.

    http://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...-whos-making-the-most-of-their-opportunities/

dunno. seems interesting. I don't know much about Manny Lawson, but seems like an upgrade over Bryan Thomas.

Manny Lawson would fit in very well with Miami in my opinion, with that speed beast, Wake on the other side.

hasnt he played 4-3 the entire time in San Francisco?

I've seen him playing standing up, and as a DE.

I agree with Electric, would like to see the Jets target Landry as well.

Would also really like to see us resign Ellis. He still can get in done at DE and will give us a solid vet to go with Wilkerson, DeVito, etc for our DE rotation.

    Nnamdi Asomugha hands down.

With Revis (1A) and Asomugha (1B) we're seriously talking about two shut down CB's. I love the smash mouth, grind it out, ground and pound style of football, but lets face it... The NFL has turned into a passing league. What better way to shut down an offensive passing attack, than to feature two of the very best CB's around? With Rex running the defensive show, AFC QB's such as Brady, Manning, Roethlisberger and Rivers could all struggle come Sundays.

We already know what Revis is capable of doing against opposing #1 WR's such as Andre Johnson, Moss, Wayne etc etc, just imagine having Aso on the other side. Forget about it, he'd completely eliminate opposing #2 WR's from the ball game. Our Safetys would then be able to emphasize against the run more often, they'd be able to protect against RB's coming out of the flats 'that much more' and we'd also have the ability to double up on TE's such as Gronk and Hernandez with LB's and S's all because we have two shut down CB's.

There are plenty of talented FA players out there, but I honestly believe Aso would make the biggest impact (with the Jets).

Id say Aso is a tad bit past unlikely at this point.

Hell be a massive impact wherever he goes tho being hands down the most talented FA at this time though.

I have heard from Jason La Canfora Asomugha isnt going to be about the money, and he will be.

It's also known(i think) Asomugha isnt really talking to any media people, and wants to remain somewhat..uhh private about his new team.

who knows what the hell he will do. but ill be stunned if this guy is going to go for that much money. he has mad a dick load of cash, and thought he wants to win a superbowl.

He's not that young anymore either, 19 million for a CB soon to enter the wrong side of 30 is asinine

^ I so agree with this.

With that said, I would like to see hime take what we plan to offer Cro instead of getting Cro back. (if he's not in it for the $ that is)

The question with Aso is... what's the max money the Jets should be willing to give him? I'm thinking not a penny more than 7-8 mill per season...

I'd like to see Roth in a Jets uni... he's a Ryan kind of player... but I think he's overvalued as of now and will get better money somewhere else. and unlike Aso he hasn't made lot's of money up until now.

Would anyone here cut Cactus Thomas to sign Roth?

If anyone says no, then they're retarded.

Roth would be a huge upgrade over Bryan Thomas.

Hey that's my opinion too but who knows... I wonder how much money Roth would get in the FA market.
Thomas counts (approximately) 3.7 mill against the cap with no dead money... I could see the Jets cutting him and signing Roth, I'm sure he'll get glowing raccomandations from the other Ryan.
