as per Menta Jets waived WR Mardy Gilyard He didn't make it a week on the roster. The 99th overall pick in the 2010 draft by the Rams, Gilyard has now been given up on by two teams in two years. Kinda surprised he couldn't he make it as a returner.
Dan Leberfield speculates that some team might have been trying to sign him off of our PS. What do we see in Trufant? Is he any good? I know he started for us during the Steelers game last year.
1) Trufant was cut before the Steelers game last year to make room for MTV (Tevaseu). 2) Guy is severly undersized at 5'8" & 170lbs but was the UFL defensive player of the year so maybe he's got some skills. Would've preferred to keep Gilyard but I guess the CS knows best.
I don't think Gilyard is done here.... my first thought when I heard was that we wanted another DB up for this weekend. Or that Gilyard wasnt as good a gunner as Trufant right now. So we just are flip flopping them and putting gilyard on the PS till he learns...
Yeah, Mike should think about how inconvenient it is for these guys to get cut and how sad it makes them.

On the ESPN Jets Blog http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/je...s-2?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter It says Ellis might not even dress for the game. Damn I had hopes on that big guy. Has he not been performing well?
First of all, Cimini's comment is pure speculation. Secondly, don't read into Ellis not dressing, if it turns out to be true. Kenrick Ellis wasn't drafted to dress week 1 in 2011; he was drafted to start week 1 in 2013. He looked good in the preseason, but he's got a lot to learn before he's ready to make an impact for this defense. That's OK.
