You always hear the usual suspect for the supposed new LA franchise. Chargers, Jaguars, Vikings.

The Dolphins had a season opener with 9,000 empties and 15,000 Patriot fans.

Why aren't they being mentioned for LA?

Because as atrocious as that is, there are too many people who it would still piss off. IMO, get the Cardinals out of Arizona.

No chance, too many part time owners from that area. I keep saying it, I am convinced they will go after Rob Ryan or some other big personality for their head coach this winter and that will fill their empty seats.

They should also try to recruit a criminal or two. That typically brings in more fans as well.

Oh This is mean- but true!
Florida has a huge NCAA fan base following and these fans think the Fins are a Sunday pastime with no passion.

Sure I'll get slaughtered for this but it's my opinion.

An interesting point in that article is the connection with the Miami Beach Convention Center. I was at a conference there last month, and it is simply substandard - it cannot compete with the ones that have been built all over the country in recent years. Super Bowls are nice, but the real money is in having your convention center (and all of the hotels nearby) filled 300 or more days a year, and the current Miami Beach Convention Center can't do that.

New York is in the same boat - the Javits Center is a joke. Supposedly the West Side Stadium was going to help address that, but of course that never happened.

I saw Dwyane Wade, Will Smith and Marc Anthony up in one of the luxury boxes.

    1 celebrity = 5000 fans.

They should recruit Dwayne Wade and Will Smith to play CB, I can't imagine the two of them would have given up 511 yards passing last night.

One correction - it's "Dwyane." He hates it when people misspell his misspelled name. Hehe.

I was over my parents house last night. Imagine the conversation that followed when my dad asked, "Who's that singing," and I had to tell him it was Fergie.

    Fergie?
    Yes, Fergie.
    What's her last name?
    Just Fergie.
    Fergie?
    Yes.
What kind of name is Fergie?
    Not sure.
    Just Fergie?
    Yeah dad. Like Madonna.
Oh, I don't like that Madonna.
    I know.
And I don't like that Gaga lady either.
    I know dad.
    So what does Fergie sing?
    Hip hop music.
    Hip what?
    Hip hop.
    It's called hip hop?
    mm-hmmm.
What kind of style is hip-hop?
    Dance music for young people.
    Like at (your cousin's) wedding?
Sort of. She sings with the Black Eye Peas (this was a mistake on my part)
    The Black Eyed WHO?

    .... and so on.

It's quickly becoming the easiest way to get public funding for stadiums. The 49ers have a huge complex attached to their proposals for Santa Rosa and San Francisco, the Dolphins obviously have it, there's some huge thing in Indy and we obviously tried to.
