Guess we can never stop learning from our classy neighbours huh?
I hate fake injuries more than anything in sports... one of the reasons I don't like soccer as much as I used to. Hope both of these guys tear an ACL in the next game...

Did the Giants fake injuries in win over Rams?

Take a look at the video above from Monday night’s Giants-Rams tilt, which went to New York 28-16.

With just less than four minutes left in the first quarter, and the Rams no-huddle offense marching toward pay dirt, a pair of New York defenders crumpled to the MetLife Stadium ground like a couple of teens at a Bieber concert.

We can’t speculate on the extent of the injuries suffered by S Deon Grant and LB Jacquian Williams. But they certainly healed in a hurry in what resembles the most recent example of a common delay tactic used by NFL defenses.

“Miraculously, he (Grant) recovered quickly,” ESPN’s Mike Tirico said after watching the replay.

Analyst Jon Gruden was a bit more specific in his interpretation: “I hate to say that he’s (Grant’s) not really hurt, but that’s a tactic that defenses have used in the past against no-huddle offenses to try to slow it down and stop the clock.”

The drive ended with St. Louis’ Josh Brown booting a 25-yard field goal.

In a chat on FOXSports.com on Monday, former VP of NFL Officiating and current FOX Sports NFL rules analyst Mike Pereira responded to a question about the suspect injuries.

“It is allowed because it is not against the rules,” he wrote. “It will end up getting discussed in the offseason. This has been going on for a long time and needs to be addressed. It is totally unethical.”

UPDATE: Asked for comment, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello pointed to page 19 of the NFL rulebook (Rule 4/Game Timing): “The Competition Committee deprecates feigning injuries, with subsequent withdrawal, to obtain a timeout without penalty. Coaches are urged to cooperate in discouraging this practice.” Of course, if a player or club admits to it, the action would be subject to discipline.

That's not entirely true... some teams do it, and every team does it better than those two morons fainting. That said I don't remember many occasions during Jets games 2 minute drives where players blatantly faked an injury, either on the Jets or the other team.

You don't remember the playoff game last year with the pats? The Jets flopped effectively several times, just not so dramatic.

The Chargers did it against the Pats too. Guy was running off the field, looked back and saw the D wasn't set and suddenly fell down.

Like Calvin said, the Patriots game. The only difference is the Giants fucked up, and made it so blatantly obvious. I think we faked an injury about 3-4 times that game.

Surprised Coughlin did that to Spags though. Shows how desperate he is.

I doubt he was thinking about who the opposing coach was..in fact I doubt he called it at all, they either did it on their own or it came from the DC

Considering the amount of real injuries the Giants have endured, they probably shouldn't be fucking with karma by faking other injuries.

Good for them. I don't care the Jets have done it a bunch I approved of it then as I do now when another team does it. I am not a hypocrite.

I think theres a big difference between a team doing it against Brady and Belichick one of if not the greatest offense in the history of the nfl.

And then not being able to keep up with the fricken rams who have a bunch of nobodies @ wr and their star hb out for the season.

Jackson is not out for the season.

However, he and Amendola (their most reliable WR) were out last night.

I think this stuff should be stopped. Players who do this should have to sit out at least the rest of the quarter.

How could a city with such legendary Theatre professionals have such horrendous acting? They need to learn some technique.

I don't care. I hope we do the same thing should we get killed in a no-huddle.
