Dont tear me a new one for this guys, just a thought.

Ive been thinking about this for a while, I dont think Haley survives the season in KC.

I think as much of a prick as Haley is, he could be a hell of an offensive coordinator for us down the line.

That is if Schotty continues to show his inconsistency in the play calling and continues to bring the offense down...

    Thoughts?

No no and fuck no... I hate Haley with a passion. Plus if he's such a good OC why does KC offense suck so much? Only year it was good was thanks to Weis (now that's a guy I'd like to have here).

McDaniels was a prick but at least he got the Broncos offense rolling...

I would think Bill Callahan would get first crack, no?

Well, barring a total collapse, Schotty isnt getting fired mid season.

But, you think they would promote Callahan in the offseason as opposed to somebody else?

And how qualified is Callahan to be an OC?

I don't think this will be a real discussion until after the season. Schotty isn't going anywhere (if at all) until then.

Cassell has been awful and Jamaal Charles is gone for the year. That being said Haley has a huge ego and would clash with Rex Ryan often so I don't know about the fit.

I also speak as the token Notre Dame fan here that Charlie Weis is crap. Overrated offensive mind who had mind boggling playcalls. QBs do play well under him so Sanchez could benefit but altogether he makes terrible decisions on offense as I had seen over the years.

I'd be okay with dumping Schottenheimer, but not for Haley.

In all honesty, I just don't see Schotty getting fired either, even if there is a total collapse. It would take something monumental for Schotty to get fired, IMO. For whatever reason, Rex sees something in Brian Schottenheimer and is constantly praising the guy and saying some day he'll be a great head coach.

Schotty's contract will expire at the end of the season... my guess is he won't be renewed and we'll move on from there.

Callahan will get first dibs at the job, I don't think Cavanaugh really has a chance. But who knows...

If we are gonna dump him can we upgrade please.

One of my issues with the people who want him gone at all costs has always been that we could do much worse. This would be an example right here.

Haley has the shortest fuse ive seen in a while, I could see him blowing blood vessels on Sanchez mistakes

a horrible recipe for someone as emotional/momentous(bad and good) as Sanchez.

hes ridden the success of Fitzgerald/Boldin into KC and has shown Weis departure was WAY bigger than anyone couldve imagined.

    1. Play to your players' strengths. Get the most out of their skillsets.
    2. Game plan accordingly, with the ability to change it up on the fly.
    3. Be Unpredicatble and still be efficient in the playcalling.

This is what Rex should be looking for in the next OC, if Schotty gets shown the door, IMO.

Callahan was the OC for the Raiders, and he was the Raiders head coach when Gruden left for the Bucaneers.

I would like to see Sanchez in the same system his entire career. With that said, schotty's system may not be the one Mark is in for the future.

    Yes, yes he can.

So can a lot of other random names that will get thrown out. As someone who has defended schotty because I feel gets an unfair amount of the blame from this fan base I have always said we could do worse than him. Making a change just for the sake of change is a mistake. It needs to be a smart change because not just any idiot will be better than schotty or even "not any worse."

The hate for schotty has reached that irrational level that it did for Pennington when people wanted Kellen Clemens to start or thought Brooks Bollinger could be a savior. Not just any scrub can come and "not be any worse" no matter how much fans hate someone.

If the jets feel they wanna move on at the end of the year that's fine. Schotty isn't great but he is ok. If they make the switch it better be for someone who is better than ok.

    Matt Cavanaugh.
We need an OC who understands our QB's game, and who consistently doesn't try to stick a square into a round peg. I would also like to see the OC come from within the ranks.
I think Schotty can be a good coach in this league (somewhere else), but it's getting a little frustrating to watch this team not take full advantage of its weapons. There's no reason why this team shouldn't score 3 or 4 TDs every week. How does this team run no quick slants to Holmes and how does Keller not get the ball yesterday? I'm sick of the inconsistencies. Last week, Greene busts out a couple of nice runs, and then he doesn't touch the ball 2 series' in a row? Ridiculous. I could go on, but I won't.
