It one damn game. Yes our D look like shit...yes play calling was bad in the 2nd half. Yes MS had a bad INT.... Yes Cro look like crap but to take up for him 3 of thos pentilies where bad calls. I guess they should not put Tom Brady in HOF because he threw the same amout INT on Sunday then he did all last season? We will be just fine so chill.
Same thing happens after every loss. People have more to say about a loss than they do about a win. People find it easier to talk about something they saw that they didn't like, than something they liked. In a loss, there's a lot to talk about.
yes.. Our defense had a bad day. Its so funny now everybody saying the Jets are a third place team and that the Bills are better than us. Really? The Bills have proved nothing yet. Yeah they were really fired up and beat the Pats. But nobody should say they are better than the Jets. People's opinions change sooooo much on a week to week basis, its fucking crazy.
Well, in my case, I was thinking a lot of those things after the Jaguars game, but I was hoping that we'd play well against Oakland, and we would look better as a whole. We didn't. It's still early, obviously, but this is the NFL. Every loss is the equivalent of a 10 game losing streak in baseball. If we want a first round bye, we can't afford to lose more than 3-4 games. We already lost once, and there are legit concerns that we aren't the same team that we were last season.
Right now, I'm sure there is a rival message board out there with a thread titled "Awesome threads at TheGangGreen.com" and inside the thread it says this: 1st Crisis Of Rex Ryan Era missing buffalo brad Year 3 and Sanchez is still making dumb decisions Year 3 under Rex and the same 3 major problems exist Jets go 2-3 and possible miss wildcard to bills? START with the brainless Ryan bashing We're just not a great team right now
Posts like this drive me nuts. Maybe I'm wrong, but show me ONE PERSON on this message board who thinks the Bills are better than the Jets. Find me ONE PERSON. Much less EVERYBODY, as you seem to think. This is a typical straw man argument. Nobody argued that. You're arguing against nobody. There's never a middle ground on this board. People voice concerns about the team, and half the board is saying we're having knee-jerk reactions. Granted, some people are, but just ignoring what you see on the field (for THREE weeks, not for one) and saying we'll be fine just because we were good the last 2 years isn't productive either.
Look I didn't come on here to agrue with anyone. I just get sick of people jumping ship over one bad game.
This kind of post makes no sense to me. Chill? The Jets lost five games last year, and as a consequence had to play three road games in the playoffs. I think we all agree that made it harder, and lo and behold, the team played like crap in the first half of the third such game. It's no guarantee that better seeding will get you to the big game, but it helps. So, if you're a fan who watched the game, who knew the Jets were favored but have two other tough road games coming up after Oakland, who had hopes of a better seeding in the playoffs... Well I guess you could chill quite easily about yesterday. Just forget what you saw or tell yourself there are other more important things in life. Of course there are, but i doubt that's what the OP intended to say.
Anybody with some semblance of football knowledge isn't jumping ship....but you'd have to be a class 5 retard to not have any concerns over what transpired in Oakland yesterday. The Jets are banged up, and got exposed yesterday....the coaching staff has their work cut out for next week, and the following week against the Pats to boot.
For everyone getting mad at the criitical threads, I'm getting just as annoyed at the "we'll be just fine" people. What does "just fine" even mean? I don't want the Jets to be "just fine" I want them to win a damn Super Bowl. And there are issues that need to be overcome if that is going to happen.
Exactly. This isn't like 2009 where we have no expectations, and just getting to the playoffs was a victory. This is after back-to-back AFC Championships, our franchise QB entering year 3, with a defense good enough for the SB and a lot of veteran skill position guys on offense. I want to win the Super Bowl this year. If just fine is what we were the last 2 seasons, even that isn't good enough.
To be fair, most of the people who have concerns about the team aren't so much upset about the 1 Oakland game, but rather its been issues they saw during the other games as well, indications that there are problems with this team.
who's panicking?! The season isn't over, obviously. But the Jets are in real trouble after yesterday's debacle. For a team that prides themselves on stopping the run, they were embarrassed. And the oline was raped. I don't know where you get "You guys need to chill, the Jets will be just fine" out of that.
