Why do you keep calling him rapist? It isn't like he got an underage girl completely wasted then got a bunch of body guards to get her alone, away from her friends and then forced her to have sex with him against her will....................
I like the toughness he showed on the field when this happened. Having said all that, this is the kind of stuff about him that bothers. I don't think it's all his fault (I think the media sets him up to throw out quotes like that), but I really feel like he panders to the crowd/media/camera. Maybe it's just me being used to a QB that basically refuses to be personable, but something about that just kind of bugs me. But back to Sanchez toughness. I liked how he didn't whine or campaign for a flag after that hit (and one definitely should have been thrown). He also showed some toughness on a number of hits Sunday (in particular one where he got sandwiched between two defenders). I think Sunday was one of his more impressive performances in its context; the defenses didn't do him any favors, special teams was surprisingly a liability and not an asset, his WRs weren't getting separation, and he was getting pounded most the afternoon and (outside of one bad play on the interception) did everything he could to keep the Jets in the game. I think this is a game people will look back to as a starting point for when Sanchez started to take the team on his shoulders for the majority of the game (and not just 4th quarters when a comeback is needed).
C'mon, man. Any Giants' fan that knows football knows that Eli is one of the top 5 QBs that franchise has had and, when all is said and done, may go down as the best. Not every team can look to Johnny Unitas and Peyton Manning as their best signal callers.
