Run the ball when the passing D is on the field, it was too obvious to NE. If you're going to be a playoff team, put your best talent on the field and go with it. Too much of this down-by-down strategy BS.

The Jets weren't outcoached. Schotty called a piece of shit game AGAIN and the refs called everything in favor of the patriots

it's easy to "outcoach" when brian schotteheimer is one of your coaches.

the OP is talking about Ryan and Pettine and hes right.

Green-Ellis with a career high. and numerous times we overloaded and they called successful draws to the weakside.

    yes Rex was outcoached.

I second this.. I'm completely sure I could coach a defense and shut down Shittenheimer and his garbage offense.

When zero passes are thrown beyond 10 yards the entire game until the Jets are losing by 2 scores, it's not very hard to defend.

I think rex like to lull belicheat into false sense of security in the regular season then smack that fool around in the postseason.

Jets offense is out-coached EVERY FUCKING WEEK if you haven't come to grips with reality yet.

last possession was the out coached portion of the game.

    The rest was execution.

    The 1st quarter was shit.

Yes, you can look at the other side and say that B.S. is to blame also. But when it cam down to it, and Jets needed the ball back to have chance, the D failed big time. Not sticking up for Shottsy, but at least give them a shot to win.

Rex before the game said his strategy was to have NE run the ball to keep Brady from passing.
Well, he got his wish......so much for the results.

It seems like this is almost a weekly thread around here lately. Some of the ref calls were bogus but thats part of the game. Maybe if we actually threw the ball downfield, this team could get some calls as well. Looking more like Dink and Dunk Chad Pennington shit we saw in the Hackett era years ago....

Reality check. We're not as talented as we were led to believe folks. We were outplayed AND outcoached. Our offense sucks right now. Mason must have been the one to go public as he was the one kept out of most of the game. Not that it would have mattered as his 37year old self is but a shell of what he used to be. Our defense is overrated thanks to a generous amount of hype dished out. We look alot like the defenses when we had Slo Mo and Marvin Jones playing in their later years. Our safeties might be the worst in the NFL as teams rip up us the middle every single week without fear. And not to pile on here, but suddenly, we can't stop the run.

Time to retool the entire team. Not trash everybody, but a real hard look in the mirror is called for by everyone associated professionally with this franchise including Tanny and Woody. The team that's going to make the next SB appearance by the NY Jets ain't on the roster yet.

We gave up first downs on sevaral 3rd and longs by penalty and bad playing. Its upsetting to get to Brady on those sacks and then turn around and give up big plays. When we did make stops, we didnt do squat with the ball, having way too many 3 and outs. We were outcoached in some aspects, we were more OUTPLAYED than anything else though. Also, why did we try to blitz up the middle on some key 3rd downs when the edge blitzes were the ones that were getting to Brady? Someone want to explain the thinking behind that? We can't get to Brady on gap blitzes up the middle on 3rd downs. Shouldnt take a genius to realize that. Why didnt we undercut Gronkowski on several of those key plays as well? We dont have enough playmakers on defense.

our biggest problem as a team is a combination of coaching and roster. since rex got here oline is a lot worse than it was, imo. receivers are a worse (though holmes is good, but corps is not great), running backs worse, tight ends-same, dline young (too soon to tell), LBers mediocre and the loud mouth regularly gets blown up, secondary-really good.

shottenheimer is what he is. never impressed with the guy. 18000 shifts to run off guard

we seem to take way more bad penalties.

I'm not concerned that Ryan got outcoached by Bill Belichick--that will happen sometimes when you face one of the top coaches in football history twice a season.

I'm way more concerned that we don't seem to have the talent to match New England on either side of the ball. Our offense isn't good enough to take advantage of their defensive weaknesses, and our defense isn't fast enough to keep up with their offense without loading up on defensive backs and leaving us vulnerable to the run.

I'm not one of the doom and gloom posters around here, but we really don't seem to be on the Pats level right now.

As a team we are as good if not better than the Patriots and today showed it. Some tough calls and horrific playcalling lost us the game. We have the personel to beat these assholes but Schotty once again killed us.
