:smile: Damn I stepped in that one good.

The sequence was still a classic though.

I'm assuming Patriot fans pronounce "k" as "ch."

90% didn't even know what a football looked like before 2001.

    Exactly.

What's disturbing is that we all know this already. The offensive playcalling is trash. The offensive unit, made of mostly average players, is underperforming. The defense is becoming too easy to plan around. The defensive unit is made of mostly average players and is underperforming.

It's not any one person's or unit's fault. The only guys I can think of off the top of my head yet to make a critical mistake are LT and McKnight, and neither has truly been in a position to do anything spectacularly wrong.

This team needs to get refocused. The entire team from the coaching staff to the practice squad.

I guess fans always see some sort of bias. Such as Jim Nantz deep-throating the Patriots every time he covers them. He was virtually silent near the end of the playoff game, only after he berated the Jets for Shonn Greene's celebration in the endzone.

This is of course assuming you were watching at that point.

So, first down, five minutes left, down by six, we KNOW the Patriots want to use up the clock, and we KNOW Benjarvis Green-Ellis is the only guy who can run the ball, and this is what we get. Note the line of scrimmage and how far off it the Jets were pushed. This was a 15-yard run, by the way. That's unacceptable even for a middle-tier defense.

ETA: By the way, I'd have to go back and look at the video for a clearer picture, but it looks to me like Light (72) is running down field, and Gronkowski and Mankins are taking out FIVE Jets between the two of them. That's fucking embarrassing. ETA #2 - Looking at the clip again, it's tough to see, but Welker is somewhere in there also, taking out Jim Leonhard.

Yes. In terms of what it says about the Jets today, that is probably the single most discouraging play of the game. Maybe more than just that game.

Wow. When you see the still, it's absolutely atrocious. Like you said, unacceptable for even a middle-tier defense.

That's 'cause we know that BB is responsible for everything in NE... he probably even watches the guy who folds socks to make sure he's balling them up and not cutting corners.

Actually, in all seriousness, BB is Rex + Tanny. Coach and GM. So there's a slight difference. I'm sure Ryan could get Schotty's ass run out of town if he really wanted to.

Heard yesterday that when the Patriots run more than they pass, in Brady's career, they're 56-1. That's freaking unreal. I understand it's a little skewed because if you're losing, you're more likely to throw, but... lots to be said for balance and not relying on one guy.

Yeah, and I made a mistake by typing in Jets when it should have be Giants. Big fucking deal. Everything else in that post was 100% accurate.

That's a bit of an overstatement, and more a product of the media than reality. There is probably no HC in the league who tries desperately to deflect the spotlight from himself more than BB. He a great delegator, and a lot of work is done by others, who also shun the spotlight. Floyd Reese has been an excellent pick up and serves as the pseudo GM, but I'd bet most Pats fans don't who he is. Bottom Line: the buck stops at BB's desk for all things n the football operation
I saw that too, for the first time today. An amazing stat. I wish the Pats had remembered it last January

Our defense has not been clutch in making stops and this began in the Colts game last year. They couldnt stop Peyton on his final drive, they couldnt stop Ben and the Steelers, they couldnt stop the Raiders in their final drive, they couldnt stop the Pats last weekend.

Its disturbing because EVERY single time we needed a stop the defense pulled through. Even in our losses to the Ravens, Packers, Dolphins, and Bears the defense gave our offense a chance to win the game. Sometimes it worked(detroit, Cleveland, Texans) sometimes it didnt. But at least they did give the offense a chance. This year we cant stop anyone it seems.

Every human that walks on this planet has biases. The issue for a national broadcaster is can you control them well enough to not have them show to the casual observer. Good luck hiding it from an experienced fan.

You see Jim Nantz pro Patriot!?! He comes as close as possible to rooting against them as you can get without coming right out and saying so.

He questions every fucking call that goes their way down to every spot of the football! If you said Simms, I might agree somewhat.
