I just saw this on the right side of TGG news cast. What? Are these people out of their fucking minds? ESPN is getting worse on a daily basis. ESPN's lunacy is over the edge now. We are comparing a 7 year QB who couldn't make it on 3 different teams and FINALLY hits his stride on his 3rd team in year 7. Then we have a 5th year player from a team that drafts a #1 QB every year, and threw for 1000+ yards 1 time in an injury shortened year. And Sanchez. Need I say moore? No mention of Tom Brady cause the whole league knows he's elite. But categorizing Sanchez in with Moore and Fitzy is ridiculous. Your thoughts..... http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/33183/sanchez-fitz-moore-watch-3
I have a hard time believing that Fred Jackson is elite. The guy just becomes that good at 31 years old? I can't see him staying at the pace he's at for the rest of the season
I don't care what espn says to be honest. Does Sanchez have room for improvement? Yes. But he's far from the worst starting qb in the league.
Yeah, they are pretty spineless with their predictions, assertions of who is good and who isn't, etc. Its like week by week they radically alter their views on every team based entirely on the previous week's performance...its annoying to watch
Agreed - but it took him 7 years and 3 teams. However MS is getting crushed like he is the 2nd coming of Ryan Leaf. Meanwhile he's on his way to 3400yds, 27 TDs and 14 Ints for the year. EDIT: In his 3rd year.
He's never been 'elite', but that label isn't applied to many RBs in the NFL. However, he didn't just become good. He's been incredibly underrated his whole career, always averaging more than 4 yards per carry behind some atrocious lines. In the three full seasons he was on the team with Lynch, he consistently had a higher average. Better pass catcher too.
I used to like the ESPN AFC East Blog when Tim Graham was doing it. But after he left, James Walker took over and is awful.
I don't know if I would use the term "elite" necessarily, but (I haven't looked at truly side-by-side comparisons) but I think up to week 6 he has 2nd most yards for an RB behind McFadden. He has always been underrated, but now that the rest of the offense can draw attention, and has an O-Line that doesn't suck incredibly, he can do his thing, and people are noticing.
Sanchez in only his third season (after only 16 college starts) has led his team to four playoff wins and two conference championship appearances FitzHarvard has been hanging around as a scrub for seven seasons including failing and getting bounced from two NFL teams before showing up in Buffalo. He has yet (I believe) to even play in a postseason game and last season -- head to head vs Sanchez he was embarrassed by around 30 points or more TWICE Moore shouldn't be discussed in comparison with Sage Rosenfels, Kellen Clemens and Al Woodall --- lifelong backups who will never amount to anything as a starter Sanchez>>>> Fitzharvard, Moore and you can throw in Josh Bustson too
Look, I'm a Jets fan but Fitzpatrick is preforming better as a quarterback than Mark Sanchez right now, that's all there is to it. So what if it took him a long time to get where he is? Hopefully Mark will improve with 7 years in the league but that doesn't change the facts.
Have you watched a Bills game yet this year? I think the Jets will win, but I very much doubt that he will get picked more than once, maybe twice, unless they are tipped passes or something. He would have to have an epic, meltdown compared to what he's been doing the rest of the season for that to happen.
Jets Corners >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>31 other teams corners Revis Island, alCROtraz, Battleship Wilson
Yes but Fitzpatrick was a 7th-round pick, to say it took him 7 years is not really fair since anyone drafted that late would have had a huge uphill battle to success just because they wouldn't get as many chances. I think the Fitzpatrick vs. Sanchez debate is a fair one, Matt Moore is not in either of their leagues.
Sanchez has been extremely inconsistent, until his completion rate & his td to int ratio get better he will only be considered mediocre, even if he wins the rest of the games this season the pundits will give the credit to the D & the running game. In the last game the play before he threw his 3rd TD to Plax he threw a pass to kerley who had two guys on him, the pass should have been intercepted in the endzone (luckily it was dropped by the D) when he stops committing these bonehead plays he'll be considered a better QB, until then he'll be mediocre at best.
