This is looking ahead a little bit, and yes, I know, the season isn't over and Sanchez can totally redeem himself. That said, I don't think it would be a horrible idea to trade for Matt Flynn next off-season to have a legitimate quarterback competition with Sanchez for the starting job. Of course, other teams will be looking at him and might be willing to give up more in a trade, but if the Jets could get him, would you guys want him?

EDIT: He's a free agent, so no trading would be needed.

I like how you cloak a moronic idea in a rational-sounding group of words.

    It's still fucking stupid.

    +1.

Matt Flynn = Kevin Kolb type of trade for a QB desperate team. Might even be the same result (sucking ass)

i dont understand why nobody has made a "we need a pass rusher, and a safety"

westhoff, folk, rex, the entire defense fucked up sunday too.

what about "hey we need a tight end that can block" thread?

there's a good point here. That is no one is pushing Sanchez - he has too much job safety. We don't have the room to spend on another QB, but finding someone who can challenge Sanchez is a priority.

Sanchez pushes himself extremely hard. From everything we've seen and read about this guy, he comes over as intensely driven to succeed and has a superb work ethic.

There are so many things that need addressing on this team, starting a quarterback controversy would only add to the team's problems, not address them. Why on earth would that be a priority?

Sanchez is the quarterback of the New York Jets. It's one of the things to build on, not dismantle.

OP - Reread the three quotes above. There's no need to repost or debate your post any further if you use a brain cell or two and actually read what everyone else posted.

You guy have got to be fucking kidding me. Ever hear of a guy by the name of Greg Mcelroy. I know you guys weren't paying attention to this team until a week or so ago, but Mcelroy looked good in the preseason. He will give Sanchez the push he needs next year.
    Matt Flynn really OMFG!
