I don't think the guy with the fully guaranteed money in 2012 is getting cut.

This team has so many holes; its going to be hard for Tanny to fix this shithe got us into because he was cocky and thought he could get away with having "NFL players" like Wayne Hunter and Eric Smith start on what everyone considered a top playoff contender.

We all like to see a huge splash in FA, but realistically, it probably wont and shouldnt happen. We cant keep screwing ourselves over thinking we can just "win now". That is a terrible mentality. This team has to stock up on draft picks and spend whatever money they have left wisely.

In FA a Safety (or two) MUST be brought in. If i see Eric Smith starting on this team next year, it will be a looooooong rough year as a fan. An athletic FS is key to the success of this offseason, and possibly resigning jimmy would be smart considering he should be cheap.

RT is a blatant need, but Im just not sure where we look to. Everyone is saying "oh, sign a cheap vet blah blah blah". You seriously think a cheap veteran is going to solve our deadly problems on Oline? Not gonna happen. High draft pick should be used (1-3).

I dont wann go through every position, because pretty much all of them need help maybe besides CB and starting QB.

Point is, unless Tanny has a fucking magical offseason, I dont see us breaking into that elite tier just yet. When depth AND multiple starting positions need to be filled, it could take a few years. The Pace and Scott contracts really fucked us.

Minimum 3 years down the road - that is, after Jets start drafting soundly and solidly, without dealing them away to move up, AND clearing up some cap space.

I Haven't watched much college FB this year, as I've been working on Saturdays, but I don't think there are any real good safety prospects this year.
Not sure if Landry on the skins will be a FA, but in short term they should've signed his brother who went to the JAGS (while they were WAY to focused on Asomugha) as well as NOT trading Lowery there as well (STUPID move)

I agree on drafting a young prospect at the position, but they have to be there talent wise. This team has made too many mistakes in the past drafting by position and not talent:

As far as Reed and Polamalu..... don't have those chances often, and your namesake took Bryan Thomas (and later Jon McGraw as S was a clear hole), then next year traded up for "Can't nobody block me" as there only a "few players with 1st round grades" and Troy was drafted near one of the JETS original spots along with another player that could've been of use
