I think there have been islanders threads in years past but they are irrelevant this year.

HOLY SHIT!! I want to celebrate but Torts calmed me down in his post game.
I like where his head is at, he was stressing it's only december and they have a long way to go, it's good to stay grounded but man am I fired up over this team.
Everyone is playing well, i can't believe that.
Stay healthy!! I am enjoying this stuff.
Thanks again Poe for the link, appreciate it.

Dubinsky is awesome, totally emasculated the Flyer's front line. If only he could score...

    My exact feelings.

Joy to watch the Rangers play.

Chore to watch the Jets play.

This will only last for a few more minutes after Chicago wins, but still... enjoy.

From looking at the standing it appears the rangers have still played a few less games than other teams. They can make up the two points just by catching up in games played.

ha with 2 games in hand we have a shot to surpass the blackhawks!

Bruins are going to be tough too...This team is so awesome, kind of worried when our unhealthy guys like Wolski and Sauer come back.

    Who goes down?

Staal will be here for sure, so Erixson probably goes down when Staal is back

It is truly amazing to watch what has happened to this team. Several posters have stated the biggest plus..softening the blow on this football season.

I DVR every game whether Im home in time or not. Watch all the post game stuff. The youth of this team is the true turn on. Incredible what they built here. Just imagine...Staal is skating and should be back within 30.

It's pretty great to know they are missing their best defenseman and don't have any need to rush him back. Everyone has stepped up this year and I think a big reason is making Cally the captain. Taking cues from a guy like that can only lead to greatness.

Girardi at 27 minutes plus a game is going to need some kind of rest soon, don't burn him out. This team makes me smile wide. Who's next the Capitals?

How GREAT a year is Michael Del Zotto having? He is PLUS TWENTY-FIVE! Check out these stats courtesy of the NY Post:

"Del Zotto has been on the ice for 54 of the Blueshirts’ 101 goals. He’s been on for 37 of 75 even-strength goals, 14 of 21 power-play goals and three of five shorthanded goals. It’s an astonishing stat for the third-year pro who is averaging 22:42 per game. "
