Thank you. This is what I thought Rex and Tanny were planning... great to have some confirmation. Where did Rex "tacitly acknowledge" this? In his presser?
Rex being more involved in the Offense is not good. He needs a strong aggressive OC. Rex is as conservative on Offense as he is aggressive on defense. We need someone who wants his unit to win games not just compliment Rex's defense.
This is bullshit. I heard the interview. He said he thinks Schotty will get a head coaching job and that's why he won't be back, but if he doesn't get a head coaching job he WILL be back. Nothing new. Move along folks.
Do you have a link or who wrote/said this? Is there a quote this writer based that Rex tactily agreed on? (Sorry but I'm really curious if we are moving away from Schotty/ if we are doing what we didn't talk about in the press conference yesterday)
Tweet per Jenny Vrentas: ex: "I will definitely be around the offense more, there is no doubt, for no other reason so I have a better idea of our our team." #nyj
In Interview on Michael Kay Rex really danced around Schotty issue and ultimately made the statement that he thinks it's "highly unlikely Schotty will be back next year". He tried to use the other coaching positions as the reason why...but I think he knows something else.
I listened to the interview and you're putting quotation marks around something Rex never said. When asked if Schotty doesn't get a head coaching job, will he be back as offensive coordinator of the New York Jets, Rex said, "Yes". (And, I can put that in quotation marks, because he actually said it.) FWIW, Tanny is on right now and he's at least dodging the question. So, maybe there is hope that they'll dump him.
I never heard him say yes to that question. I heard him say "it's highly unlikely he'll be back... which to me means....he won't be back...which means the "yes" statement is BS anyway.
