We'll see.... I still think we should toss Holmes into a rocket and launch him into the sun but that's just me.
Bring back Braylon? But it's good that Sanchez and Holmes spoke. I hope they can mend their issues and get past this.
Good thing Holmes seems contrite, he isn't going anywhere so that could end up being a problem resolved.
I'll believe it when I hear Holmes say it. But... what if the majority of the anonymous quotes provided to Manish were provided by a money hungry ex-con who was unhappy with his situation? Burress wanted to play for the Giants and still does. The recent report of him at a signing prove this. What if he only signed with the Jets because they said they would start him and he still had home and family in the area? Burress had 3 catches on 6 targets for a little more than 30 yards against the Giants. The guy is playing against a team he publicly courted, a team he spent a few days behind closed doors with, and when he is "spurned," he goes happily to the cross-town rival who is desperate to make noise in the media enough to guarantee him a starting spot, which means better pay. Then he "shows his prison legs" in big moments when the team needs to win in the latter parts of the season. But shows just enough ability to prove he still has it. Plaxico Burress may be the worst thing that happened to this team all year, Hunter included.
I agree with you 100% Byz. There were times during the season Plax's effort in his routes looked like the effort in this year's Pro Bowl.
“They knew what type of player I am,” Burress said. “There’s no doubt about it. Those coaches that are over there, some of the players, they know me in games like this when your back’s against the wall, and all those kind of things. So I think they know what kind of effort they’re going to get out of me on Saturday.” - Plaxico Burress before the Giants defeat the Jets. And both teams had their backs against the wall.
The Holmes issue is somewhat overblown, the way I see it. As was said here, Holmes has no choice. I think he will respond positively
There will always be isues when ou lsoe, Tony Richardson alluded to some problems in 2010 that never made it out to the media b/c the team was winning. Win and you don't have to worry about nonsense like this. i'd be more disturbed if guys were ok w/ losing than being pissed.
I would have asked Keller his opinion on the article that said HE IS THE PROBLEM!!! Where it said he can't Block for #### and everyone knows when he's out the team is going to run making the Jets offense predictable and making Sanchez job tougher.... Keller?
And you base this on what, exactly? Based on what we have seen and his past behavior, his responding positively is the last thing that I would assume.
