i love how mario williams makes the bills better than us now. if the bills draft smart and get their offense going.. they'll contend. but if we draft smart and get our offense going? sorry, still 3rd.
O.k. so lets see Mario will line up over Hunter, well that sucks right there. THey have two good backs, we dont at this time. There wideouts are just as good if not better than what we currently have. Mark is not better than Fitzy sorry but thats the truth. Not saying that either of them are great its just that they both are decent. The Bills are going to be tuff this year plain and simple.
lolwut First off they have two good backs ? Fred Jacksons 31 coming off a gruesome injury, so lets see how great he is now. CJ Spiller, is suddenly a good back ? Hes been considered a bust for the most part, and had 3 good games in 2 seasons, 3 !!!! Second of all its their wideouts not there, and they're not impressive at all. They absolutely positively are not more talented than ours, (assuming Holmes isn't a premadonna this year) and http://www.nfl.com/player/marksanchez/79858/profile http://www.nfl.com/player/ryanfitzpatrick/2506581/profile Sanchez has 32 tds, 18 ints Fitz has 24 tds 23 ints in his only year where his stats didnt suck And all this was where Sanchez had a nightmare of problems at the offensive line, and major problems with premadonna WRs. So if youre gonna pretend for even a second that Fitz is better than Sanchez
first off.. da fuck @ calling him fitzy. :rofl2: the only improvement they've made is mario williams. our defense will still be better than theirs. i would bet large sums of money on this. they were ranked 26th last year. but because mario williams is lined up over wayne hunter, they're super bowl contenders. well alright. all the other shit you're talking about.. they had last year. and they finished with the same record as the dolphins. so what's going to make them contenders this year? i love how the bills are capable of improvement from now until the start of the season through the draft and they'll get their offense going.. but we won't. we can't. and we're stuck in third. are people really worried about the bills? come on. i'll believe they're good when i see it.
Mario Williams was a great signing by the Bills but can we relax on pumping them up so much? They haven't beat the Jets since early in the 2009 season when Sanchez threw 40 interceptions in one game.
They are having a nice offseason, resigned their special teams aces and their center, picked up solid rotation D-linemen, a decent safety and made a big upgrade at WR. They still definitely need another DB, and likely a pass rusher, but they can probably let Green-Ellis walk and be fine with the guys they drafted last year and a veteran cheap pickup.
DCM, At no time did I say that Fits is better than Mark, I said they are just about the same at the end of the day, they are both in the bottom tier of Qb's. I would take Jackson if healthy and Spiller over what we have currently. Is Holmes going to learn how to get separation again from Db's? Is he going to catch the ball that is thrown to him finally. Johnson and Holmes are just about the same to me. They will have big games and then disappear for a few games. You can not even compare our O line with the Bills, Fitzy has one of the worst O lines in the NFL...... I am not a Bills fan, I am just stating what my opinion is. Some numbers will back it up others wont.
I have limited on the internet to type things so I shortened his name sorry... At no time did I say they are superbowl anything Tell me how the Jets have improved since the end of the season to this point? Dont tell me its still early in free agency, tell me what we have done to improve...
Odd how Sanchez was sacked 39 times, and Fitz 22 yet Fitz's Oline was worse And how the Bills had two HBs avg over 5 ypc last year with "one of the worst offensive lines"
you are acting like the bills and jets were equal heading into free agency. so far, the bills have made one addition. our defense is still better than theirs by a large margin. do you disagree? and according to you.. our qbs are equal. santonio and stevie are equal. our o-line is better. and their rbs are better. and this makes us looking up at them how? so why is it that you think the bills will "have a smart draft and get their offense going" but you don't think the jets are capable of doing the same? that's where it's not making any sense.
Sanchezis better than "Fitzy". Jackson is better than Greene, but Greene is better than Spiller. Stevie Johnson is better than Holmes, but the Bills have NOONE after him. Too bad our offense doesn't play their offense. Defense v. Offense guys!!!!!!
I'm all for solidifying coverage, but if the Jets have not learned that the only way to counter the Pats is a pass rush, then there is no hope. The only way to beat Brady is by smacking him around constantly. If you do that it doesn;t matter what wr they sign.
I hope they're out of the Landry business too. Consider this viewpoint for ESPN.com NFC East reporter Dan Graziano, who writes a piece today with the headline "Let's talk about LaRon Landry." Landry is an injured player, folks. And if there's an early market for his services, it's because some team is willing to take a very big risk. I guess Landry has fans' attention because he's a big name. And in spite of the fact that memories only go back six days in the NFL, there are some images still stuck in people's brains about big plays Landry used to make once upon a time when he was a healthy player. Oh yeah, when he's on the field, there are few safeties in the league scarier than Landry. There is no doubting that. But the reason he's on the market ... is that he can't get on the field, and the Redskins are sick of wondering from week to week whether they can count on him.
Apples and oranges. At best, Gonzalez will compete to be Welker's back-up in the slot, Landry would be asked to be a playmaking starting safety. Plus, it's gonna take alot more coin to sign Landry than it did to sign Gonzalez. Which makes the risk alot bigger for whoever signs Landry.
Brandon Lloyd really screwed himself with all the Josh McDaniels mouth-hugs he put out there in the media prior to the free agency period even starting. Way to piss away any leverage you might have had. That said, this is a nice, solid pickup for the Patriots. You're not talking about another Ochocinco here, you're talking about someone who has a history in of being a productive player in their offensive scheme. They desperately needed a guy who could get open on the sidelines and who could run a deep route a few times a game.
Or have conversations with both guys that start out something like, "We've been looking at your contract and have some things we wanna run by you... alternatively, the parking lot is THAT way..." I know Ocho's cap number is high but can't remember what they're paying Branch this year. Might be worth keeping Deion around for now.
Branch is a UFA, and he'd probably have to sign at the veterans minimum and make the team. The fact he doesn't play special teams would put him behind Lloyd, Welker, Edelman (D/st), Underwood (st), Slater (d/st), and Hernandez when he lines up wide... I think both are ex-Patriots!
If he doesn't get any interest elsewhere, vet minimum sounds good! I've heard some rumblings that Edelman is going to play full-time on D this season. I also think the TE they just signed from Denver was brought in so that they could put some interesting personnel groupings out, with Hernandez outside. I also didn't mind the Gonzales pick-up. Maybe he doesn't ever play, but vintage low-risk, high-reward on that one.
