The Jets did not bring Tebow in here to be a backup QB.

They did not bring him in here to compete with Sanchez, although his mere presence on the roster at a diff position may accomplish the same thing.

They brought him in to run the ball and drive defenses crazy.

Take all the extra baggage(tebowites, media, PSL's, money) all that off field nothing to do with the game bullshit and take it to a different thread, please.

This shit can work, and well I think.

Its true I was against this trade because of the afore mentioned baggage that comes with Tebow the person.

This thread is about Tebow the player and the skillset that he brings to our team and how we are going to utilize it.

How many running plays do you think we will use Tebow in?

How many plays per game do you think we see the wildcat/seminole/whatever the hell?

Do we only use it when the scenario calls for it or is it an integral part of the gameplan?

Do they inject aTebow play here and there just to keep certain fans happy?

Because of that emergency qb rule they will ahve to list Tim as RB I believe, any truth to that? If so that should alleviate at least some of the Bullshit right off the bat.

    I hope.

Theres nothing we can do about it now, so we might as well get used to it, so please post your theories and football related stuff in here.

His effective role with the team will most likely be a Wildcat RB/QB. I doubt they move him full-time to runningback.

I'm sure they'll take a look at him throughout training camp and determine what exactly to do with him.

ALERT: Tebow is a QB not a RB. He will NEVER be a RB. His role is to be our wildcat QB and push Sanchez to achieve the greatness he supposedly possesses. We'll see. I'm sure Tebow will play his role perfectly, not so sure about Sanchez. Time to take the training wheels off of Sanchez and find out what we have. If he fails it's Tebow time.

He is essentially Ronnie Brown no? Hes deff not gonna be #2 QB, the best thing they can do is send a clear message, hes not here to play QB.

If they do list him as QB I thought due to that emergency QB rule he cannot enter until the 4th quarter or some shit, so thats another reason.

Why not. Tebow wants to win first and foremost. He is a great football player but a subpar QB. The Broncos one with him at QB because he was able to make plays. I would love for him to be our number 1 RB. People are forgetting how athletic Tebow is.

If we can get him to commit to a different position he could be great and take our offense to a different level then it has been the last 3 seasons.

I wouldn't compare him to Brown. Besides Tebow not being injury prone hes a more punishing runner than Brown. Tebow still has the ability to take the ball outside and turn the corner but no one is afraid to tackle Ronnie Brown.

I meant his role in the offense not so much his playing style.

NEWSFLASH: Tebow WAS a QB, he is now a RB who can throw.

Why not. Hes just as good a runner as Greene except he has the ability to throw and keep defenses honest there. Im sure he has better catching ability than Greene as well. Both should get around 15 carries a game.

I don't think Tebow could take the punishment of being a #1 RB as someone posted. But I do think giving Greene 15-20, McKnight/Powell 5-15, and Tebow 5-15 could work into a very very strong run game. Tebow definitely changes what the defense does if they run the wildcat through him. Most RB's who run the wildcat cannot throw a strike down the field. I have faith in Sparano implementing Tebow correctly.

Tebow will always be listed at QB, at least for the next few years unless he gives up that dream. He's not fast enough to be a full-time RB anyway.

I dont know about that, Im one of those who believe that alot of his success was because defenses didnt know if he was gonna run or pass, thats best when someone else does the legwork and then all the sudden this other guy comes in who can do either.

You didn't watch Denver much then did you. Tebow ran the ball 122 times in 14 games last season. Besides the sacks and hits on him for being a QB there was countless times he would get drilled after the play when he ran the option. He took a lot of hits. He bounces up every time like its nothing. Guy is a warrior.

Im not saying all this and being all supportive because Im a big Tebow fan or anything either. I absolutely hate Florida and never liked Tebow. I think he is a terrible QB but I've seen the way he plays and runs with the ball and if he was committed to making that his priority he could be a great player and asset to the Jets.

Why is it upto him what they list him as, you want a paycheck or not boy?

Jsut cause they list him at RB doesnt make him fulltime, how many times did Powell see the field? List him at FB i dont really care but send a message that hes here to run the damn ball not to take over.

You dont need to be super fast to be a good RB.
